APSC Veterinary Officer Recruitment 2026: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has published an official recruitment notification (Advt. Vacancy Details

The Assam Public Service Commission has released 137 vacancies for the post of Veterinary Officer/Block Veterinary Officer. These positions are distributed across various categories, including 41 reserved seats for female candidates, alongside horizontal reservations for PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.

Note: 4 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and 2 posts are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Education Details

• Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc & A.H.) from a recognized University or Institution.

• Applicants must be permanent residents of Assam and must upload proof of residence such as a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

Salary

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Band 4 in the pay scale of Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 1,10,000/- with a Grade Pay of Rs. 12,700/-, along with usual allowances as admissible under Assam State Government rules.

Age Limit

As of January 1, 2026, candidate age must be between 21 years and 38 years.

Upper Age Relaxation:

• SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years (Up to 43 years)

• OBC / MOBC Candidates: 3 Years (Up to 41 years)

• PwBD Candidates: 10 Years relaxation

• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 50 years for Unreserved, relaxable further by 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 5 years for SC/ST

Selection Process

The selection procedure will be notified by the APSC. The Commission will decide the mode of selection (Screening/Written Examination and Interview Test/Viva-Voce) based on the status, cadre, and number of applications received.
