Vacancy Details

The MDL recruitment drive offers 495 Trade Apprentice vacancies distributed across 18 specialized trades. These seats are categorized into three distinct groups based on educational qualifications: Group A (100 seats), Group B (355 seats), and Group C (40 seats).

Educational Qualifications

• Group A: Candidates must have passed SSC (10th Class) with General Science and Mathematics. They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/Divyang candidates, while SC/ST candidates need only passing marks.

• Group B: Candidates must have passed ITI in the relevant trade from a Government-recognized institute. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/Divyang candidates, whereas SC/ST candidates only need passing marks.

• Group C: Candidates must have passed 8th Class with Science and Mathematics. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General/OBC/SEBC/EWS/Divyang candidates, and passing marks for SC/ST.

• Note: Candidates who have already passed ITI are strictly NOT eligible to apply for Group A and Group C trades.

Stipend Details

• Selected candidates will receive a competitive monthly stipend during their training period in accordance with the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Age Limit (as of 01 October 2026)

• Group A: 15 to 19 years.

• Group B: 16 to 21 years.

• Group C: 14 to 18 years.

• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates as per government rules.

Selection Process

The final selection for the MDL Apprentice program will be finalized through the following stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): An online objective examination assessing technical and general knowledge.

2. Document Verification & Trade Allotment: Verifying all original educational mark sheets, caste certificates, and eligibility proofs.

3. Medical Examination: A final check to ensure the candidate’s medical fitness for the specified trades.
