Visakhapatnam Port Trust Trade Apprentice 2026 Vacancy Details
The Visakhapatnam Port Authority has announced a total of 20 placements for Trade Apprentices. The vacancies are evenly distributed among five different technical trades, with each trade offering a one-year training period.

Education Details
- Welder: Passed ITI in the trade of Welder.
- Electrician: Passed ITI in the trade of Electrician.
- Fitter: Passed ITI in the trade of Fitter.
- Motor Mechanic: Passed ITI in the trade of Motor Mechanic (Motor Vehicle).
- Electronics: Passed ITI in the trade of Electronics (Mechanic).
Monthly Stipend
Selected apprentices will receive a fixed monthly stipend during their one-year training period:
- Welder: Rs. 8,344.60 per month.
- Electrician, Fitter, Motor Mechanic, and Electronics: Rs. 9,387.67 per month.
Age Limit
Candidates should have completed a minimum of 14 (fourteen) years of age as of 31-08-2026.
Selection Process
- The engagement of Trade Apprentices will be made purely on a merit basis, calculated from the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in their ITI.
- Preference will be given to the children of VPA employees in the ratio of 4:1:1 (4 for VPA, 1 for CHD, and 1 for Outsiders).
- Among the children of port employees, a sub-ratio of 2:1:1 will be applied for children of deceased employees, medically invalidated & superannuated employees, and serving employees respectively.
- Only shortlisted candidates based on the merit of marks secured in the qualifying exams will be called for certificate verification.
- No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid for attending the certificate verification.
