Education Details

To be eligible for the MP Police Constable Band recruitment, candidates must satisfy the following educational requirements:

• UR / SC / OBC Categories: Candidates must have passed their 10th (Matriculation) or 10+2 (Intermediate) examination from a recognized educational board.

• ST Category: Candidates must have passed at least the 8th standard or its equivalent.

Salary

Selected candidates will be compensated as per the 7th Pay Commission:

• Pay Scale: ₹19,500 – ₹62,000

• Stipend Structure: During the probationary period, recruits will receive a stipend equivalent to 70% of the minimum pay in the first year, 80% in the second year, and 90% in the third year.

• Allowances: Candidates will also be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), and a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.

Age Limit

The age of the applicants will be calculated as of April 19, 2026:

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age (UR/EWS/Other State Candidates): 33 years

• Maximum Age (SC/ST/OBC/Government Employees): 38 years

• (Note: Age relaxation is provided up to 3 years beyond the upper limit for Ex-Servicemen as per their service period.)

Selection Process

The MP Police Constable (Band) selection does not involve a written examination. Candidates will be assessed through the following stages:

• Stage 1 (Skill Test): A qualifying screening test on one instrument from ‘List A’.
• Stage 2 (Band Playing Test): A practical test carrying 75 marks (60 marks for the Trade Test + up to 15 bonus marks for playing optional instruments).
• Stage 3 (Interview): A 25-mark interview assessing trade knowledge, general knowledge, sports, and NCC background.
• Additional Stages: Document Verification, Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and a final Medical Examination.
