Vacancy Details

The Indian Navy has announced a total of 15 tentative vacancies for the SSC Executive (Information Technology) branch, open to both men and women. These training slots are subject to change based on the Indian Navy’s requirements and availability.

General Eligibility

• Applications are invited from unmarried eligible men and women candidates.
• Candidates must have been born between 01 Jan 2002 and 01 Jul 2007 (both dates inclusive).

Recognized Universities and Institutions

• The university granting the degree should be incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India.
• Alternatively, the educational institution should be established by an Act of Parliament or declared as a Deemed/Autonomous University under the UGC Act 1956, IIT Act 1961, AICTE Act 1987, NITSER Act 2007, or IIIT Act 2014.
• Candidates who have obtained a degree in Engineering (regular/integrated) with a 60% marks aggregate or equivalent CGPA from a foreign university, college, or institution are also eligible.
• However, the foreign university/college/institution must be recognized by the Government of India for the purpose, or the candidate must hold an Engineering Degree/equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities established under the AIU Act 1973.

Education Details

Mandatory Prerequisite

• A candidate must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in English in either Class X or Class XII.

Core Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess one of the following educational qualifications with a minimum of 60% overall qualifying marks (in either or a combination of the following):

1. MSc / BE / BTech / MTech in any of the following streams:

• Computer Science
• Computer Science & Engineering
• Computer Engineering
• Information Technology
• Software Systems
• Cyber Security
• System Administration & Networking
• Computer Systems & Networking
• Data Analytics
• Artificial Intelligence

OR

2. MCA with BCA/BSc (Computer Science/Information Technology).

Additional Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates who have already graduated, completed their post-graduation, or are currently in their final year (regular or integrated programs) are eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum 60% marks aggregate or equivalent CGPA requirement.

• Candidates who have obtained a degree in Engineering (regular/integrated) from a foreign university/college/institution recognized by the Government of India are also eligible if they have a 60% marks aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

Salary

Candidates selected and inducted will begin their career in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. The starting basic pay for a Sub Lieutenant is Rs. 56,100/-, along with other allowances as admissible per government regulations.

Age Limit

Applicants must fall within the specified age bracket to be considered for this entry. Candidates must be born between 01 Jan 2002 to 01 Jul 2007 (Both dates inclusive).

Selection Process

The selection procedure for the Indian Navy SSC IT Officer entails the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Applications will be shortlisted based on the normalized marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying degree. Candidates holding a valid NCC ‘C’ certificate with a minimum ‘B’ Grade get a 5% relaxation in the cut-off marks.

2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or SMS to attend the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.

3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB must undergo a strict medical examination applicable to their entry.

4. Merit List: Final selection is based on a merit list prepared from SSB marks, subject to medical fitness, police verification, character verification, and vacancy availability.

Application Fee

• Register yourself on the portal using your basic details and an active e-mail address and mobile number.
• Log in and carefully fill up all personal particulars exactly as they appear in your Matriculation (10th) Certificate.
• Ensure you have your Aadhar Card details ready.
• Upload scanned copies (in original JPG/TIFF format) of all required documents, including 10th & 12th certificates for date of birth proof, semester-wise mark sheets, CGPA conversion formula, NCC ‘C’ certificate (if applicable), and a recent passport-size color photograph.
• Review all entries carefully. Once submitted, the application is final, and no amendments will be allowed.
• Take a printout of the final submitted application form to carry along when appearing for the SSB interview.
