Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (as on 01.07.2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 Years

  • Maximum Age: 30 Years

Upper Age Relaxation:

  • SC / ST Category: 5 Years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years

  • PwBD Category: 10 Years

  • Ex-Servicemen & 1984 Riot Affected: 5 Years

2. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University/Institution recognized by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.

  • The result of the graduation degree must have been declared on or before 09.08.2026.

3. Mandatory Post-Qualification Work Experience

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 1-year post-qualification work experience in Clerical or Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) listed under the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.

  • Experience must be completed on or before 09.08.2026.

  • Advance increments in pay (up to a maximum of 2 increments) may be given to candidates who have worked as Officer cadre in Scheduled Commercial Banks with similar job profiles.

4. Local Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the designated local language of the applied state.

  • Candidates who have studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard are exempted from the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) upon submitting documentary proof. Others must pass the qualifying LLPT.

Selection Process

The selection process for PNB Local Bank Officers comprises four main phases:

  1. Online Written Test: A computer-based test consisting of 5 test sections.

  2. Screening: Scrutiny of online applications and submitted eligibility documents prior to LLPT/Interview.

  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Qualifying test for candidates who did not study the state’s local language in 10th or 12th standard.

  4. Personal Interview: Total 50 Marks. Minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 45% (22.50 marks) for SC/ST candidates and 50% (25 marks) for other categories.

Negative Marking: One-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer. Minimum sectional qualifying marks are 40% for General/EWS and 35% for Reserved categories.

Pay Scale, Probation & Service Conditions

  • Pay Scale: ₹48480 – 2000/7 – 62480 – 2340/2 – 67160 – 2680/7 – 85920. Candidates are also eligible for DA, CCA, HRA/Leased Accommodation, LFC, and medical benefits as per bank rules.

  • Probation Period: 02 years active service from the date of joining.

  • State Deployment Rule: Selected LBOs will remain posted within the chosen state until completing 9 years of service or promotion to SMG Scale IV, whichever is earlier.

  • Indemnity Bond: Selected candidates must execute an Indemnity Bond to serve the bank for at least 3 years or pay ₹2,00,000 (Rupees Two Lakh Only) in case of leaving earlier.

  • Credit History: Candidates must maintain a healthy CIBIL score of 680 or above at the time of joining.
