OPTCL Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has announced a total of 60 vacancies for the Management Trainee (Electrical) position. The distribution includes reservations for SC, ST, SEBC, and UR categories, with specific allocations for women candidates within these groups.

(Note: Out of the 60 posts, additional reservations exist for Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, and Sports Persons.)

OPTCL Recruitment 2026 Education Details

To be eligible for the Management Trainee (Electrical) post, candidates must fulfill the following educational criteria by June 25, 2026:

• Possess a Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a recognized University/Institution with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
• Alternatively, passing Section-A&B of IE (India) in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks is acceptable.
• The minimum required mark for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates is 50%.
• Applicants must have a valid GATE 2026 Score (Paper Code: EE).
• Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently and have passed a requisite examination with Odia as a language or medium of study.

OPTCL Jobs 2026 Salary Details

• Training Period: Candidates will undergo a one-year training period during which they will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000/-.

• Post-Training Salary: Upon successful completion, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical) in the pay scale of Pay Matrix Level EE-2: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500.

• Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 56,100/-.

• Annual CTC: The total compensation package is approximately Rs. 15 lacs per annum, including DA, HRA, Medical Allowances, and other benefits.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years as of 01.05.2026.
• Maximum Age: 32 years as of 01.05.2026.

Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, SEBC, Women, and Ex-Serviceman candidates, and by 10 years for PwBD candidates over and above their category relaxation.

The selection for this recruitment will be based on the following two parameters:

• GATE 2026 Score: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their normalized marks out of 100 in the GATE 2026 Electrical Engineering paper, carrying a 90% weightage in the final score.
• Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a personal interview, which holds a 10% weightage in the final evaluation.
• Final Step: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness and document verification.
