OSSSC Nursing Officer Education Details

To be eligible for the OSSSC Nursing Officer posts, candidates must meet the following educational criteria:

• Passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent.

• Possess a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Diploma or a B.Sc. Nursing degree from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

• Hold a valid, active registration certificate from the Odisha Nursing Council or any recognized State Nursing Council.

• Must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and have passed the Middle School Examination (Class 7) or higher with Odia as a language subject.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a highly competitive remuneration package. The salary for the OSSSC Nursing Officer falls under Level-8 of the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules. The basic pay scale ranges from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300. In addition to the basic pay, candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other government benefits, resulting in an expected in-hand salary of approximately ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 per month.

Age Limit

Candidates applying for the recruitment must fall within the designated age bracket as of the cut-off date mentioned in the detailed notification:

• Minimum Age: 21 Years

• Maximum Age: 38 Years

Note: Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC, Women, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen categories in accordance with standard government rules.

Selection Process

The recruitment process for the OSSSC Nursing Officer involves two main stages to ensure candidates possess both theoretical knowledge and practical competence:

1. Written Examination: An OMR-based offline test carrying 100 multiple-choice questions (100 marks) focused on GNM/B.Sc. Nursing subjects, Practical Skills, Arithmetic, and English. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

2. Document Verification: Candidates who clear the written exam merit cutoff will be called to verify their original educational certificates, registration documents, and identity proofs.
