CSIR is filling 100 ASO positions across three distinct cadres: General, Finance & Accounts, and Stores & Purchase. These vacancies include specific reservations for UR, SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and EWS categories as per government guidelines.

CSIR ASO Jobs 2026 Education Details

• Candidates applying for the ASO post must hold a valid University degree.

• It is mandatory that the applicant is a non-recommended candidate from the Civil Services Examination 2024 (CSE-2024) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Salary Selected individuals will be placed in Group B (Non-Gazetted) posts. The salary corresponds to Pay Level-7, Cell-1, with a pay matrix ranging from Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400. Personnel will also be entitled to standard allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA).

Age Limit The upper age limit for candidates is 33 years as of the online application closing date (13.07.2026). Age relaxations are applicable: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), and 10 years for Unreserved PwBD candidates.

• Shortlisting: Candidates are initially shortlisted for the Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) in a 1:5 ratio, based on total marks (Mains + Personality Test) secured in UPSC CSE-2024.
• Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): A 1-hour, 100-mark qualifying test evaluating Word Processing, Spread Sheet, and Slide Generation skills.
• Final Merit: Final selection is determined by the total marks from UPSC CSE-2024, provided the candidate meets the minimum threshold marks in the CPT.
