Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Degree: Fresh Graduates in law with a minimum of 55% marks (or equivalent in Cumulative Grade Point System of marking) from any recognized University or Institution in India.

• Final Year Students: Candidates pursuing the Final Year of Law Courses (5 years integrated LL.B. or 3 years LL.B.) are also eligible to apply. Their selection will be subject to passing the Final Year Examination with at least 55% marks before appointment.

• Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Computer Application / Operation is required.

• Language: Acquaintance with the vernacular language, i.e., Gujarati.

• Note: Existing Legal Assistants already holding appointment orders for 11 months or more under previous processes are not eligible to apply.

Tenure and Remuneration

• Tenure: The initial appointment is for a period of 11 months. Based on the recommendation of the concerned Hon’ble Judge and approval from the Chief Justice, the tenure can be extended up to a maximum of another 11 months only.

• Remuneration: Selected candidates are entitled to receive a fixed remuneration of Rs. 60,000/- per month.

• Fee Amount: All candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 500/- plus applicable bank charges.
