The CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination will be conducted across multiple shifts on July 17 and July 18, 2026. Candidates must carefully note their specific subject’s schedule:

  • Life Sciences: Scheduled for July 17, 2026, during Shift-1 (09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon).

  • Mathematical Sciences & Physical Sciences: Scheduled for July 17, 2026, during Shift-2 (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM).

Exam Pattern

The CSIR-UGC NET is a Single Paper Test consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The examination spans a duration of three hours and carries a maximum of 200 marks. The question paper is divided into three distinct parts:

  • Part A: This section is common to all subjects and tests General Aptitude, featuring a maximum of 20 questions, out of which candidates are required to answer 15.

  • Part B: This section contains subject-related conventional MCQs that cover the core topics given in the syllabus.

  • Part C: This section features higher-value, analytical questions designed to test a candidate’s knowledge and application of advanced scientific concepts.
