The GSSSB has announced a total of 82 X-Ray Assistant (Class-3) vacancies spread across two major medical departments in Gujarat. Of the total available positions, 76 posts are designated for the Director of Medical Services in Gandhinagar, while the remaining 6 posts are allocated to the Employee State Insurance (ESI) Scheme Office in Ahmedabad.

Educational Qualification

To apply for the GSSSB X-Ray Assistant post, candidates must meet the following educational standards:

• Academic Requirement: Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) examination with Physics, Chemistry, and English subjects from the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

• Computer Proficiency: Applicants must possess basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed by the Gujarat Civil Services Classification Rules, 1967.

• Language Skill: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, or both languages is mandatory.

Salary Structure

• Initial Period: Selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed remuneration of Rs. 26,000/- per month for the first five years.

• Regular Scale: Upon successful completion of the five-year probationary period, candidates will be integrated into the regular 7th Pay Commission pay matrix at Level-2 (Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 63,200/-).

Upper Age Relaxations:

• General Category Women & Reserved Category Men: 5 Years

• Reserved Category Women & General Category PwBD Men: 10 Years

• Ex-Servicemen: Period of service + 3 Years

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in a single-stage competitive examination:

1. Exam Format: Objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) exam conducted via CBRT (Computer Based Response Test) or OMR method.

2. Exam Structure: The exam is divided into Part-A (90 marks) and Part-B (120 marks), totaling 210 marks. The total duration provided is 3 hours (180 minutes).

3. Negative Marking: A penalty of 1/4 (0.25) marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.

4. Qualifying Marks: Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 40% marks independently in both Part-A and Part-B to qualify.

The application fee varies based on the candidate’s category and is meant to be paid strictly via online modes (Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Wallets).

• Unreserved (General) Category: Rs. 500/-

• Reserved Categories (All Women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen): Rs. 400/-

• Note: The examination fee will be completely refunded to candidates who actively appear for the examination.
