The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) has released a detailed notification inviting online applications for the recruitment of Horticulture Assistant, Class-3 posts. Vacancy Details

The GSSSB has announced a total of 100 vacancies for the Horticulture Assistant Class-3 post. These vacancies are distributed across various categories including General, EWS, SEBC, SC, and ST, with specific reservations allocated for women, ex-servicemen, and specially-abled candidates.

Education Details

• Candidates must possess a Diploma in Horticulture obtained from a Polytechnic of any Agriculture/Horticulture University incorporated under Central or State Acts in India.

• Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed by Gujarat Civil Services rules is required.

• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both languages, is mandatory.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 26,000 for the first five years. After satisfactory completion of this five-year period, candidates will be eligible for a regular appointment in the Pay Level-4 matrix (Rs. 25,500 – 81,100).

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of the closing date of the application, August 17, 2026.

Age Relaxations:

• Female Candidates (General): 5 Years

• Male Candidates (Reserved Categories): 5 Years

• Female Candidates (Reserved Categories): 10 Years

• Specially-abled (PH) Candidates: 10 to 20 years depending on their specific category and gender

• Ex-Servicemen: Period of service rendered plus an additional 3 years

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on a single-stage Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) or Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) examination.
• The exam features two sections: Part-A (90 marks) and Part-B (120 marks), with a combined time limit of 3 hours (180 minutes).
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 (1/4th) marks for every incorrect answer.
• The minimum qualifying standard to pass both Part-A and Part-B is 40%.

Application Fee

Note: The fee paid shall be refunded to the candidates who successfully appear for the examination.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official OJAS website at https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in.

2. Navigate to the “Online Application” tab, click “Apply”, and select “GSSSB” from the list.

3. Select the advertisement for “Horticulture Assistant, Class-3” (Advt. No. 454/202627) and click “Apply Now”.

4. Carefully fill in your “Personal Details” and “Educational Details”.

5. Accept the declaration (Assurance) by selecting “Yes” and click “Save” to generate your Application Number.

6. Upload a scanned passport-size photograph (5 cm x 3.6 cm) and your signature (2.5 cm x 7.5 cm) in JPG format (maximum file size 15 KB).

7. Verify all entered details, then go to the “Confirm Application” section. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, and click “Confirm Application” to generate your final Confirmation Number.

8. Pay the required application fee online (via Debit Card, Internet Banking, UPI, or Wallets) before August 20, 2026.

9. Download and print the final Application Form and Fee Receipt for future reference.
