BMC Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) / Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika, Labour Department, has released an official recruitment advertisement (Advt. No. Chief Labour Officer/585/MC dated 11.08.2026) for the engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Under this drive, BMC is recruiting 612 Trade Apprentices across 18 technical trades for a one-year training duration across various departments and civic hospitals. The recruitment will be conducted through a walk-in recruitment rally (Bhartee Melava) on August 20 and August 21, 2026, in Mumbai. Eligible candidates who have passed ITI in the relevant trades from Maharashtra are invited to apply.

BMC Trade Apprenticeship 2026: Educational Qualification

• Basic Academic Qualification: Candidate must have passed SSC (10th Standard) or equivalent examination with Marathi as a subject carrying at least 100 marks.
• Technical Qualification: Candidate must have passed the relevant ITI course in all semesters from a recognized institution located within Maharashtra State.
• Domicile Condition: Candidates must be permanent residents and domiciles of Maharashtra State.
• Previous Apprenticeship: Candidates who have previously undergone or are currently pursuing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible.

Stipend Details

• ₹19,890/- per month: Electrician, Wireman, Fitter, Painter General, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Draughtsman Civil, Turner, and Machinist.
• ₹17,680/- per month: Plumber, Mason (Building Construction), Carpenter, COPA, Welder, Pump Operator Cum Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Vehicle Body Builder, and Desktop Publishing Operator.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: Candidate must be at least 14 years old as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• Maximum Age: As per applicable Maharashtra Government rules and apprenticeship guidelines.

Selection Process

1. Apprenticeship Portal Registration: Candidates must register on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal and select the establishment name “MCGM”.
2. Merit Listing: Selection will be prepared based purely on the aggregate marks scored in the qualifying ITI examination, following applicable social and horizontal reservation rules.
3. Tie-Breaking: If two or more candidates have identical scores, preference will be granted to the candidate older in age (based on date of birth).
4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for original certificate verification.
5. Contract & Medical Fitness: Selected candidates will sign the online Model Contract of Apprenticeship Training and undergo medical and police character verification before commencing training.

BMC Trade Apprentice Jobs 2026: How to Apply

1. Visit the official National Apprenticeship Training Portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and complete your candidate registration.
2. Search for the establishment “MCGM” under the “Apprenticeship Opportunities” tab and submit your online enrollment for your specific trade.
3. Download and print the official prescribed offline application form attached to the recruitment advertisement.
4. Fill in all details in the application form carefully (Name as per SSC memo, Contact Details, ITI marks, and NAPS Registration Number).
5. Attach a recent passport-sized photograph (2.5 cm x 3 cm) and sign across it.
6. Enclose self-attested photocopies of required documents:
   • School Leaving Certificate / Birth Certificate
   • SSC / 10th Standard Marks Sheet and Certificate
   • ITI Marks Sheets and National Trade Certificate
   • Maharashtra State Domicile Certificate
