Education Details
- Trade Apprentices: Passed 10th Class/SSLC and completed full-time regular ITI course from an NCVT/SCVT recognized institute (For Welder trade, NCVT certificate only).
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Passed 10th Class and completed full-time regular Diploma in the relevant branch of Engineering during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).
- Graduate Apprentices: Passed 10+2 and completed regular full-time Degree (B.E./B.Tech in relevant branch, B.Com for Accountant, or B.A for Assistant-HR) during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST).
- State Preference: Candidates who completed their qualifying education from recognized institutions located in Tamil Nadu will be given primary consideration.
Stipend
Apprentices will receive a monthly consolidated stipend throughout the 1-year training period:
- Graduate Apprentices: ₹12,300/- per month
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹10,900/- per month
- Trade Apprentices: ₹11,040/- per month (₹10,560/- per month for Welder and COPA trades)
- Additional Facilities: Subsidized food and hostel facilities are available as per rules.
Age Limit (As on 01/08/2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 27 Years (for General/UR candidates)
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- SC / ST: 5 Years
- PwBD Candidates (minimum 40% disability): 10 Years
Selection Process
- Merit List Preparation: Shortlisting is done strictly based on the percentage of marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying examination (ITI / Diploma / Degree).
- Tie-Breaking Rule: In case candidates obtain identical marks, preference will be given to the older candidate.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates and testimonials for verification.
- Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to meeting the physical fitness standards specified under the Apprentices Act.

How to Apply
Candidates must complete a two-step registration process to submit their application:
- Step 1 (Government Portal Registration):
- Trade Apprentices must register on the NAPS portal at
apprenticeshipindia.gov.inand obtain their 10-digit registration number. - Graduate and Technician candidates must register on the NATS 2.0 portal at
nats.education.gov.inand obtain their student enrolment number[cite: 4, 5].
- Step 2 (BHEL Portal Registration & Submission):
- Visit the BHEL Trichy recruitment portal at
trichy.bhel.com. - Click on Apprenticeship Application Portal (TRICHY) and select Register.
- Enter basic registration details to generate your OTP and set a password.
- Log in and accurately fill in personal, academic, and apprenticeship portal enrolment details.
- Upload scanned copies of required documents (Passport-size photograph, signature, 10th mark sheet, consolidated qualification certificate, community certificate, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and portal profile screenshot).
- Submit the application form and download/print the confirmation copy for future document verification.
