Western Railway 2026 Vacancy Details

Education Details

• Level 5/4: Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.
• Level 3/2: Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board, OR Passed Matriculation (10th) from a recognized Board plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, OR Passed Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.
• Level 1: 10th Pass from a recognized Board OR ITI OR Equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. (Note: Candidates awaiting the final results of the prescribed educational qualifications are not eligible to apply).

Sports Achievements / Norms

• Only sports achievements acquired between 01/04/2024 to the date of notification (27/08/2026) will be considered valid.
• Level 5/4: Represented the country in the Olympic Games (Senior) OR secured at least 3rd position in the World Cup / World Championships / Asian Games / Commonwealth Games (Senior Category).
• Level 3/2: Represented the country in World Cup / World Championships / Asian Games / Commonwealth Games OR secured at least 3rd position in Commonwealth Championship / Asian Championship / South Asian Federation Games / USIC Championship OR 1st position in Federation Cup (Senior).
• Level 1: Represented in Commonwealth / Asian Championship / SAF Games / USIC Championship OR secured at least 3rd position in Federation Cup (Senior) OR represented a State with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships.

Salary / Pay Scale

• Level 5/4 Posts: Placed in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 5 or Level 4.
• Level 3/2 Posts: Placed in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 3 or Level 2.
• Level 1 Posts: Placed in the 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 1. (Note: Emoluments on initial appointment will be the minimum pay of the respective level plus other admissible allowances).

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years.
• Maximum Age: 25 Years.
• Date of Birth Requirement: Candidates must be born between 01/01/2002 and 01/01/2009 (both days inclusive).
• Note: There is no age relaxation provided for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD & Ex-SM categories under this Open Advertisement Sports Quota recruitment.

Selection Process

1. Selection Trial (40 Marks): Assessment of game skill, physical fitness, and coach’s observation during trials. Candidates must secure a minimum of 25 marks out of 40 to be declared “FIT” for the next stage.
2. Assessment of Recognized Sports Achievements (50 Marks): Evaluation of valid sports certificates.
3. Educational Qualification (10 Marks): Assessment of academic credentials.
4. Medical Examination & Document Verification: Final appointment is strictly subject to the verification of all original documents and clearing the requisite Medical Fitness Test.

1. Visit the official Western Railway RRC website at https://www.rrc-wr.com.
2. Click on the online application link for “Sports Quota Recruitment 2026-27”.
3. Complete the registration process using a valid email ID and active mobile number. Candidates must also enter their Aadhaar card number (or Aadhaar Enrolment ID) during this step.
4. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and specific sports achievements carefully, ensuring the specific position played is mentioned.
5. Upload scanned copies of a recent color photograph (20–70 kb, without cap/sunglasses), signature (20–30 kb), date of birth proof, educational certificates, and sports achievement certificates.
6. Pay the applicable application fee through the integrated online payment gateway using a Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
7. Submit the application form before the closing date of September 30, 2026 (18:00 Hrs) and take a printout of the generated e-receipt and application form for Document Verification and trials. (Candidates applying for more than one game/event or different pay levels must submit separate applications with separate fees).
