HPSC Food Safety Officer Notification 2026 Education Details
Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, or Doctorate degree from a recognized university or institution in Food Technology (including Food Engineering, Food Processing & Preservation, Food Safety & Quality Management, etc.), Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, or Agricultural Science (Horticulture, Agriculture Engineering, Fisheries, etc.).
Alternate Disciplines: Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine (MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BAMS, BSRMS), or an equivalent qualification approved by the Food Authority.
Language Requirement: Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matriculation, or Hindi as a subject in Higher Education.
Mandatory Training: Selected candidates must successfully complete the training specified by the Food Authority after appointment to be notified as Food Safety Officers.
Salary
Pay Scale: ₹9,300 – ₹34,800/- with Grade Pay of ₹4,200/-.
Functional Pay Level: FPL-6 (Cell-1) with initial basic pay of ₹35,400/- per month.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 years (as on October 19, 2026).
Maximum Age: 42 years (as on October 19, 2026).
Age Relaxations (Haryana Domicile):
Scheduled Castes (DSC/OSC): 5 years relaxation.
Backward Classes (BC-A / BC-B): 5 years relaxation.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 5 to 10 years relaxation (up to a maximum age of 52 years).
Unmarried, widowed, or legally separated women: 5 years relaxation.
Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered in military plus 3 years.
Selection Process
Screening Test: If the application volume is high, the Commission may conduct an objective Screening Test to shortlist candidates.
Subject Knowledge Test: A written test assessing core domain knowledge and specialization.
Interview / Viva-Voce: Personality test and oral assessment to evaluate overall suitability.
Document Verification: Scrutiny of original academic credentials, certificates, and eligibility proofs.

DESM Candidates of Haryana (UR): ₹1,000/-.
