Education Details

  • Essential Qualifications:

    • A recognized Medical Qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule must fulfill conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act.

    • Completion of compulsory rotating internship.

  • Desirable Qualifications:

    • Post Graduate Degree or Diploma recognized under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

    • Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment under prevailing local conditions.

Salary

  • Emoluments: Appointees will be engaged as Job Trainees on a fixed monthly amount of ₹34,000/- per month under the applicable State Government scheme.

Age Limit

  • Age Range: 18 to 45 years.

  • Crucial Date: Age will be reckoned as of January 01, 2026.

  • Age Relaxation: A 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible to Bonafide candidates of Himachal Pradesh belonging to SC, ST, OBC, WFF, and Persons with Disabilities (where seats are earmarked for these categories). Ex-Servicemen and HP Government employees receive relaxations as per State Government rules.

Selection Process

  1. Paper-I (Screening Test / CBT): An objective test of 1 hour duration comprising 100 marks with negative marking of 0.25 (1/4th) marks for each incorrect or unattempted question:

    • General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh: 30 Marks

    • General Knowledge of National and International Affairs: 30 Marks

    • Knowledge of Hindi Language: 20 Marks

    • Knowledge of English Language: 20 Marks

  2. Paper-II (Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test – SAT): A 3-hour descriptive test carrying 120 marks based on domain knowledge. Candidates must score at least 45% (General) or 40% (Reserved categories) to qualify.

  3. Personality Test: An interview carrying 30 marks conducted at the HPPSC office in Shimla. Minimum pass marks are 40% (12 marks) for General and 30% (09 marks) for reserved categories.

  4. Final Ranking: Determined solely by combining the scores of Paper-II SAT (120 marks) and the Personality Test (30 marks) out of 150 marks.

  • All Categories & Genders: A uniform fee of ₹600/- is charged from all applicants.

  • Payment Mode: Online through Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or Net Banking on the portal.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official HPPSC website at hppsc.hp.gov.in.

  2. Click on the “Apply Online” link and choose “One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations”.

  3. Complete profile registration using a valid mobile number and email ID, or log in if already registered.

  4. Select Advertisement Number 62/9-2026 from the live advertisements list on the dashboard.

  5. Fill in the application details and upload scanned copies of required documents (Matriculation certificate for age proof, MBBS degree and all mark sheets, internship certificate, category certificate, and Bonafide Himachali certificate).

  6. Upload a clear, recent scanned photograph and signature.

  7. Check the application preview, verify all documents, and accept the online declaration.

  8. Pay the examination fee of ₹600/- online.

  9. Submit the application before 11:59 PM on October 16, 2026, and retain a printed copy for future reference.
