Education Details

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in India as of September 1, 2026. Candidates must also possess knowledge of computer operations and have a minimum computer typing speed of 35 words per minute.

Salary

The Junior Court Assistant role is classified as a Group-B Non-Gazetted post and is positioned in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix. Appointed candidates will receive an initial Basic Pay of Rs. 35,400/- plus other applicable allowances.

Age Limit

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and not exceed 30 years of age as of September 1, 2026.

  • Standard age relaxations apply for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Physically Challenged, and Ex-servicemen categories as per Government of India rules.

  • Dependents of freedom fighters are eligible for a maximum age relaxation of up to 5 years.

  • There is no upper age limit for departmental candidates working in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.

Selection Process

The selection process involves four stages:

  1. Objective Type Test: A 2-hour Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) exam with 100 questions (20 General English, 15 General Aptitude, 15 General Knowledge, 15 Indian Constitution/Judiciary, 10 SC Rules 2013, 10 SC Officers Rules 1961, and 15 Computer Knowledge). There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer. Minimum qualifying marks: 50.

  2. Typing Speed Test: A 10-minute computer-based English typing test requiring a minimum speed of 35 w.p.m. A maximum of 3% mistakes is allowed. Minimum qualifying marks: 25 out of 50.

  3. Written Test (Descriptive): A 2-hour English language exam evaluating Comprehension, Precis Writing, and Essay Writing. This test carries 100 marks (minimum qualifying: 50), and it will only be evaluated for candidates who qualify the Typing Speed Test.

  4. Interview: Candidates qualifying all the aforementioned tests will be shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio for a 25-mark interview (minimum qualifying: 13 marks).

  • SC / ST / OBC (NCL) / Ex-Servicemen / Physically Challenged: Rs. 750/-

  • Payment Mode: Fees must be paid exclusively online through the UCO Bank payment gateway (plus applicable bank charges).
