MECON has advertised 81 regular executive vacancies across multiple hierarchical grades. The positions span Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, and Manager levels, along with Senior Manager and Assistant General Manager positions across Engineering, HR, and Legal disciplines.

MECON Jobs 2026 Education Details

Educational qualifications are assessed as on September 01, 2026:

• Engineering Disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, Ceramic, Chemical, Mining, Metallurgy): Regular/full-time Degree in the respective branch of Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

• HR Discipline: Two-year regular/full-time/ODL PG Degree or PG Diploma, MBA, MSW, or MA with specialization in HRM, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations (IR), Labour Management, Organizational Development, HRD, or Labour Welfare from a UGC-recognized university.

• Legal Discipline: Full-time Degree in Law (BL / LLB or equivalent) or 5-year integrated Bachelor of Law course.

• Minimum Marks Requirement: Minimum 60% aggregate marks for UR, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates applying for Post Codes 01 to 30 (E-1 to E-3 grades); minimum 50% aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. For Post Codes 31 to 50 (E-4 and E-5 grades), candidates must possess a passing certificate in the prescribed qualification.

Experience Requirements

Post-qualification experience must be as a regular employee in a CPSE or large private sector organization having an annual turnover exceeding Rs. 2,000 Crores in any of the last three financial years (2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26):

Appointed executives will receive pay and allowances in the regular IDA scale along with standard central PSU perks:

Age Limit

• Upper Age Limit: Up to 50 Years as on September 01, 2026.

• Age Relaxation:

  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates: 3 Years

  • PWD Candidates: 10 Years (UR), 13 Years (OBC-NCL), 15 Years (SC/ST)

  • Domiciles of J&K (1980–1989) & Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India directives.

  • The maximum age after all admissible relaxations cannot exceed 52 years on the cut-off date.

Selection Process

• Scrutiny & Shortlisting: Applications and uploaded credentials will be screened against the eligibility parameters.

• Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview to assess domain competency and leadership suitability.

• Travelling Allowance (TA): Outstation candidates appearing for the interview will receive rail fare reimbursement (3rd AC for E-1 to E-3; 2nd AC for E-4 to E-5) by the shortest route on producing valid travel proof.

• Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Selected candidates must be certified medically fit by the Medical Board of Ispat Hospital, Shyamali, Ranchi before joining.
