IREL Tradesman Trainee Jobs Salary Details
During Training (1 Year): A consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 34,200/- will be paid, along with applicable HRA (calculated on the minimum pay of Rs. 22,000/-) if company bachelor accommodation is not provided, plus medical benefits.
Upon Regular Absorption: Trainees will be absorbed in the W-3 Grade as ‘Tradesman’ in the pay scale of Rs. 22,000 – 88,000/-. The approximate annual CTC will be around Rs. 6.5 Lakhs per annum (including Industrial DA, HRA, perks, PF, gratuity, and insurance).
Age Limit & Relaxations
Upper Age Limit: 35 years as on 09.11.2026.
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
SC / ST: 5 years relaxation.
Ex-Servicemen: Service duration plus 3 years.
PwBD Candidates: 10 to 15 years relaxation depending on the category (Note: No posts are identified suitable for PwBD candidates due to the nature of duties).
Maximum Age Cap: The maximum age after all applicable relaxations must not exceed 50 years.
Selection Process
Written Test (CBT): A single 2-hour Computer Based Test comprising 150 Multiple Choice Questions (Section I: 100 questions on Professional Knowledge in the trade; Section II: 50 questions on General Knowledge, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and English). There is no negative marking.
Skill Test (Trade Test / Computer Proficiency Test): Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called in a 1:5 ratio. The skill test is qualifying in nature.
Final Merit List: Prepared solely based on CBT marks of candidates who qualify the Skill Test.
Application Fee
UR / EWS / OBC (NCL): Rs. 472/- (Application Fee) + Rs. 354/- (Processing Fee) = Rs. 826/- (inclusive of 18% GST).
SC / ST / PwBD / ESM / Women / Internal Candidates: Application fee is exempted; they only pay the processing fee of Rs. 354/- (inclusive of 18% GST).
