The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially released a short notification for the RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026, announcing 1,250 vacancies. In a historic shift, the Station Master recruitment is no longer part of the general NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) process. Instead, it has been given its own dedicated notification under CEN 08/2026.
This separation brings a major overhaul to the selection process, most notably reducing the Computer-Based Test (CBT) from two stages down to a single, comprehensive exam.

RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 Exam Details
If you have been preparing based on the old NTPC pattern, you need to update your strategy immediately. The Railway Board has completely revamped the exam structure:
Standalone Exam: Station Master is now a separate exam instead of being clubbed with other NTPC posts.
Single Stage CBT: The old CBT-1 and CBT-2 format is gone. Candidates will now face only one 120-minute CBT.
New Subjects: The syllabus now explicitly includes Basic Science, Data Interpretation (30 marks), and Reading Comprehension, alongside Mathematics and Reasoning.
Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, ensure you meet the fundamental requirements set by the RRB:
Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
Age Limit: 20 to 30 years (category-wise age relaxations will apply as per government norms once the detailed notification is out).
Medical Standard: Candidates must meet the strict A-2 medical fitness standards prescribed by the Railway Board (crucial for visual acuity).
