K-TET is the mandatory state-level eligibility examination conducted to determine the benchmark quality of teachers for Lower Primary, Upper Primary, High School, and Specialist/Language categories across government and aided schools in Kerala. Kerala TET Category-Wise Education Details
Candidates who are in the final year (3rd or 4th semester) of their B.Ed / D.El.Ed / D.Ed courses are also eligible to apply. A relaxation of 5% in qualifying marks is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, and OEC candidates, while a 10% relaxation is granted to Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Age Limit
There is no upper or lower age limit prescribed for appearing in the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test.
Kerala TET September 2026 Exam Pattern & Structure
The examination is an offline, OMR-based test with 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 150 marks, with a duration of 2.5 hours (150 minutes) for each category. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses.

Note: Candidates who have already qualified K-TET in a specific category are not permitted to reappear for the same category.

Candidates applying for multiple categories must submit only a single online application form and pay the respective examination fee per category.

How to Apply Online
- Visit the official K-TET website at ktet.kerala.gov.in.
- Click on the “New Registration” link on the home page and read the detailed instructions thoroughly.
- Select the category or categories (Category I, II, III, or IV) you are eligible for and wish to apply for.
- Enter your personal details, date of birth, communication details, educational qualifications, and preferred examination educational district.
- Select a recognized Government Photo ID card (e.g., Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, or Aadhaar Card) and enter the document identification number.
- Upload a clear, recent passport-size photograph taken against a plain background without stamps, selfies, or dates.
- Review your filled entries carefully; make corrections using the edit option if necessary, and submit your final confirmation.
- Note down the generated Application Number and Application ID.
- Pay the prescribed application fee through the SBI e-Pay payment gateway.
- Download and print the final submitted confirmation page for your personal records (do not send hard copies to Pareeksha Bhavan).
