Cochin Shipyard Limited has announced 210 apprenticeship positions, comprising 205 seats for ITI Trade Apprentices across 16 trades and 5 seats for Technician (Vocational) Apprentices across 5 disciplines.

Category A: ITI Trade Apprentices (205 Posts)

Category B: Technician (Vocational) Apprentices (5 Posts)

Education Details

• ITI Trade Apprentices: Candidates must have passed 10th standard and hold an ITI qualification (National Trade Certificate – NTC) in the relevant trade.

• Technician (Vocational) Apprentices: Candidates must have passed Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) in the relevant discipline.

Eligibility Conditions

Applicants must possess permanent domicile status in the state of Kerala.

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any organization are not eligible.

Stipend for Cochin Shipyard Apprentice 

Selected candidates across all ITI trade and vocational disciplines will receive a consolidated stipend during their one-year training period:

• Monthly Stipend: Rs. 11,000/- per month

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age as of October 8, 2026.

• Age relaxation will apply to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be strictly merit-based following the criteria below:

Shortlisting:

1. Applicants will be shortlisted based on the overall percentage of marks scored in the prescribed qualifying exam (ITI NTC or VHSE).

2. If two or more candidates achieve identical percentage marks, relative merit will be determined by seniority in age.

Document Verification:

1. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email to attend certificate verification at CSL Kochi with original documents (proof of age, qualification, caste, domicile, disability certificates, and signed online application printout).

Final Contract Execution

• Candidates found medically fit will execute an apprenticeship contract agreement on the National Apprenticeship Portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in).
