Under this recruitment drive, online applications are invited from 10th pass candidates for a massive total of 23,757 vacancies across 23 postal circles across India. India Post GDS Recruitment- Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Must possess a Secondary School Examination (Class 10) passing certificate with passing marks in Mathematics and English from any recognized Board of School Education.
- Compulsory Local Language: Must have studied the designated local language of the applied postal circle at least up to the 10th standard. (Special language certification provisions apply for Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Sikkim, and Nagaland).
- Other Essential Requirements:
- Knowledge of Computers (ability to operate smart phones/computers).
- Knowledge of Cycling (riding bicycle or two-wheeler scooter/motorcycle).
- Adequate means of livelihood (undertaking to have secondary income sources).
- Accommodation Arrangement (selected BPMs must arrange branch office space in the post village at their own cost).

Selection Process & Merit Calculation
- System-Generated Merit List: Selection is determined automatically by a system-generated merit list based on Class 10 aggregate percentage calculated to 4 decimal places.
- Grade Conversion Rule: For boards using grades/CGPA, marks are derived automatically using a standard 9.5 multiplying factor ($Marks = Grade \times 9.5$).
- Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal marks, priority is given based on: Date of Birth (Older candidate) followed by Gender/Category priority order (ST female/trans-female > SC female > OBC female > EWS female > UR female > ST male > SC male > OBC male > EWS male > UR male).
- Physical Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must report to the designated Divisional Head within 15 days of notification with original credentials and two sets of self-attested photocopies.
- Pre-Engagement Training & Joining: Includes a mandatory 3-day basic training and antecedent verification by police before final engagement.

- All Female, SC, ST, PwBD, and Transwomen Candidates: Nil / Free (Exempted)

How to Apply
- Step 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)
- Visit the official portal at indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
- Click on “New Candidate Registration” and validate your active mobile number and email ID through OTP.
- Enter personal details matching your Class 10 certificate to generate a unique Registration Number.
- Step 2: Online Application Submission
- Log in using your Registration Number and Password.
- Select your 10th passing board, year, and enter subject-wise marks/grades.
- Choose your Postal Circle and preferred Division.
- Enter your order of preference for all available vacant Post IDs in that division.
- Step 3: Upload Scanned Files
- Upload a recent color photograph (30 KB to 100 KB, JPG/JPEG format).
- Upload a scanned signature on white paper (20 KB to 100 KB, JPG/JPEG format).
- Step 4: Fee Payment & Submission
- Pay the application fee of ₹100/- online (if applicable).
- Review the application form preview and submit before September 21, 2026 (17:00 Hrs).
- Download and print the confirmation page for your records.
