Assam PET 2023: State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Assam has Released a Notification for admission into a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed.) course for the session 2023-2025. SCERT Assam is going to conduct Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2023 on 10th September 2023 (Sunday). The Application process has been started and the Last Date for Registration is 14th August 2023.

Assam PET 2023 Notification
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates who are permanent residents of Assam to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023 for admission into 2 -Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) Course. The course will be conducted in the NCTE-recognized Teacher Education Institutes (DIET/CTE/Normal School/BTC/Pvt. TEIs) of the state for the academic session 2023-2025.
This is for information that the youths of the state who are permanent residents of Assam and aspiring to take up teaching as a profession at the elementary level may apply to appear in the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023 for admission into 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for the session 2023-2025 in the NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) of the state.
It is to be noted that acquiring this diploma by a person will not automatically be enabled to claim for recruitment in any Govt. elementary school.
Applications are therefore, invited from the intending candidates having aptitude to serve with dedication as teachers in Elementary Schools for admission into the 2-yearDiploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for the session 2023-2025.
Admission will be open for each Teacher Education Institute (i.e. DIET, CTE, Normal Schools, BTC and Private Institutes). District-wise merit list will be prepared and allotment will be made in Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) in the districts as per merit and availability of seats. In each district, there will be a reservation of 30% of the total seats for candidates having Science stream and 70% of the total seats for Arts & other streams.
Assam PET 2023: Minimum Educational Qualification
The candidates must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) [10+2] from a recognized Board/Council with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H) category, there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in the optional/extra/fourth subject.
Assam PET 2023: Age Limit
The candidate must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July, 2023. There will be relaxation by 2 years in upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC, ST(P) & ST(H) categories.
Reservation
Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), Person with Disability (PWD), EWS will be as per Reservation Policy.
Assam PET 2023: Application Fees
Rs. 600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for all categories to be paid online through Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card etc. during submission of the application form.
Venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023
The Venue for Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023 will be allocated in the “District” selected by the candidates during the submission of the application form, which will be indicated in the ADMIT card of the candidates. Seats will be allotted to the selected candidates in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) of the “District” in which the candidates choose to appear for the Pre-Entry Test (PET)-2023.

How To Apply for Assam PET 2023
Candidates must submit their application form through online mode only by visiting the official website i.e., https://scertpet.co.in. No other mode of application will be entertained.
Before applying online, keep the following points in mind:
- Applicants are required to apply only through Online mode, no other means/mode of submission of application form will be accepted.
- Applicants are advised to fill up the online application form well in advance, without waiting for the last date, to avoid the last-minute hassle.
- Documents Required :
- Recent passport-size photograph (100 kb) and should be of .JPG/JPEG format
- Signature (100 kb) and should be in.JPG/JPEG format
- Class 10th Admit Card (450 kb) and should be in.PDF format
- Marksheet of higher secondary (H.S.) [10+2] or its equivalent examination. (450 kb) and should be of .PDF format
- Register in the Portal using a valid Mobile Number.
Note: Candidates are advised to keep their mobile numbers unchanged until the admission process is over.
