Bank of India has notified a total of 779 vacancies for Credit Officers across Middle and Senior Management grades (MMGS-II, MMGS-III, and SMGS-IV). This total includes 475 unfilled vacancies from a previous recruitment cycle. Category-wise distribution is as follows:

BOI Credit Officer Eligibility
Candidates, intending to apply for the post of Credit Officer (General Banking) should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by Bank for respective post:
Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either –
- a Citizen of India or
- a subject of Nepal or
- a subject of Bhutan or
- a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates must fulfill the educational qualifications and certification criteria as of the relevant date, 01.06.2026.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) applying for reserved vacancies will be granted a 5% relaxation where a minimum of 60% marks is required, meaning they are eligible with a minimum of 55% marks.

BOI GBO Stream Age Limit & Relaxation Criteria (As on 01.06.2026)
The minimum and maximum age criteria for General Category and EWS candidates are:
- MMGS-II: Minimum 25 Years, Maximum 32 Years
- MMGS-III: Minimum 28 Years, Maximum 38 Years
- SMGS-IV: Minimum 32 Years, Maximum 45 Years

BOI Credit Officer 2026 Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The selection procedure may consist of an online examination and/or a personal interview, depending on the number of eligible candidates.
Online Examination: Comprises a test in English Language (25 questions, 25 marks) and Professional Knowledge (100 questions, 100 marks) with a composite time of 120 minutes.
Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will face an interview with a maximum of 100 marks.
Note: The Bank reserves the right to conduct the selection based solely on a personal interview without holding the online test.

The structure of online examination will be as under

Bank reserves the right to modify the structure of the examination which will be intimated through its official website. Other detailed information regarding the examination will be given in an Information Handout, which will be made available for the candidates to download along with the call letters from the official website www.bankofindia.bank.in
The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi. The test of English Language will be of qualifying nature i.e. Marks obtained in English Language will not be added while preparing merit List. The minimum qualifying marks in English Language Test and Professional Knowledge Test will be 35% for General/ EWS candidates. It is mandatory to secure minimum qualifying marks in each Test. Candidates belonging to the Category SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD, filling in vacancies reserved for the relevant category, will be entitled to a relaxation of 5% marks in relation to that stipulated for General/ EWS category candidates
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question answered incorrectly by the candidate, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at the corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
