Mandatory Residency

• Only candidates who are local residents (domiciled) in the state of Chhattisgarh are eligible to apply for the Lecturer positions.
• Applicants must possess a valid Chhattisgarh Local Resident Certificate (छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य का स्थानीय निवासी प्रमाण पत्र) to be considered for the recruitment.
• All horizontal reservation benefits for Women and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD) are exclusively reserved for local residents of Chhattisgarh.
• In accordance with state rules, the examination fee will be refunded back to the originating bank account only for Chhattisgarh local resident candidates who actually appear for the written examination.

Selection Process

1. Written Examination

• Structure: The exam consists of 100 objective-type (multiple-choice) questions.
• Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 1 mark, making the total exam worth 100 marks.
• Negative Marking: There is a penalty of $1/4$ mark deducted for every incorrect answer or for bubbling multiple options for a single question. Unanswered questions will receive zero marks.
• Duration: Candidates are given 2 hours to complete the question paper.
• Exam Centers: The exam will be held across 5 designated divisional headquarters: Surguja (Ambikapur), Bilaspur, Durg, Jagdalpur (Bastar), and Raipur.

2. Merit & Selection List

• Merit Generation: The final selection list is prepared purely based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination.
• Validity: The primary selection list remains valid for exactly 6 months from the date of issue.

3. Waiting List

• Capacity: A category-wise waiting list will also be prepared, comprising a minimum of one candidate and up to a maximum of 25% of the total vacant posts in that category.
• Validity: The waiting list remains valid for 9 months from the date the primary selection list is issued.

4. Document & Character Verification

• Certificate Checking: CGSSB does not collect physical documents during the online application. All original certificates (caste, domicile, education, etc.) are strictly verified by the appointing authority (Directorate of Public Instruction) after the exam.
• Police Verification: The final appointment is subject to satisfactory character verification and police clearance.

5. Medical Examination

• General Fitness: Selected candidates must be declared physically and mentally fit by a prescribed medical authority to fulfill their duties.
• PwD Verification: Candidates selected under the Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) category must undergo a mandatory assessment by the District Medical Board of their posted district to verify their benchmark disability and functional requirements before they are allowed to join.

6. Probation Period

• Duration: Upon final appointment, candidates are placed on a probation period of 3 years.
• Extension: If a candidate’s performance is found unsatisfactory, the appointing authority may extend the probation period by a maximum of 1 year, or terminate their services if they are deemed unfit for the role.

• General Category: Rs. 350/-
• OBC Category: Rs. 250/-
• SC/ST/PwD Category: Rs. 200/-
• Note: In adherence to Chhattisgarh state rules, the examination fee will be refunded back to the originating bank account for all local resident candidates who appear for the written exam.

4. Fill in the required academic and personal details for your chosen subject (only one subject can be selected).
