CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a premier Mini Ratna Schedule ‘A’ Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has officially released its recruitment notification (Ref No.: CSL/P&A/APPE/SEL. DESIGNTD/DEGREE_DIPLOMA_2023_2024/2023/4) for the engagement of Graduate and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices. Under this drive, CSL is offering 139 one-year apprenticeship training seats for eligible Engineering Degree and Diploma holders who are domiciles of Kerala. Candidates who passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026 can submit their applications online through the NATS portal.

CSL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Educational Details

• Graduate Apprentices: A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a statutory university/empowered institution or professional body examination equivalent in the relevant discipline.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Engineering): A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council / Board of Technical Education or University in the relevant discipline.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices (Commercial Practice): A Diploma in Commercial Practice granted by a government-recognized institution.
• Passing Year Eligibility: Candidates must have passed their qualifying degree/diploma in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
• Equivalency Certificate: Candidates claiming equivalent qualifications must produce an official Equivalency Certificate issued by a competent authority.
• Domicile Restriction: Candidates must be a domicile of Kerala state.
• Ineligibility: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act in any organization are not eligible.

Stipend Details

• Graduate Apprentices: ₹15,000/- per month.
• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: ₹13,000/- per month.
• Boarding & Lodging: No travel allowance, boarding, or lodging will be provided by CSL during training.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: Candidate must be above 18 years old as of September 1, 2026.
• Relaxation & Reservation: Government of India guidelines on reservations for SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD candidates will be strictly adhered to.

Selection Process

1. Academic Merit Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based purely on the percentage of marks obtained in their basic qualifying engineering degree or diploma.
2. Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal marks, precedence will be given based on seniority in the year of passing. If the passing year is identical, the older candidate based on date of birth will be ranked higher.
3. Certificate Verification: Shortlisted candidates must present original certificates (age, qualification, mark sheets, Kerala domicile proof, caste, disability certificate) along with self-attested copies at CSL.
4. Provisional Allotment: Final selection will be issued in order of merit and reservation, subject to clearing the medical fitness examination.

• All Categories: Nil / Free (No application fee is charged by Cochin Shipyard Limited).

How to Apply

1. Visit the official National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at nats.education.gov.in.
2. Registration / Activation:
   • Registered Users (Old Portal): Activate your account on the new portal (nats.education.gov.in) using the ‘Forgot Password’ option, log in, and complete your profile.
   • New Users: Click on “Student”, then “Student Register”, fill out the required academic/personal details, and generate a unique Enrolment Number.
3. Log in to your student dashboard on nats.education.gov.in.
4. Search for “COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED” under the “Apply against advertised vacancies” section.
5. Click “Apply” for your respective discipline. Verify that the status updates to “Applied”.
6. Complete and submit the online application before the deadline of September 1, 2026.
