CTET July 2023: Exam Schedule

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct 17th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in CBT (Computer Based Test – Online) mode between July, 2023 to August 2023. The exact date of the examination will be mentioned on the admit cards of the candidates. The detailed Information Bulletin containing details of the examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination cities and important dates will be available on CTET official website: https://ctet.nic.in. soon and the aspiring candidates are requested to download the Information Bulletin from the above-mentioned website only and read the same carefully before applying. Aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website i.e. https://ctet.nic.in. The online application process will start from 27-04-2023 (Thursday) onwards and the last date for submitting an online application is 26-05-2023 (Friday) up to 11:59 hrs. The fee can be paid up to 26-05-2023 (Friday) before 11:59 hrs.

CTET July 2023: Eligibility Criteria
The persons possessing minimum qualifications for the teaching staff in accordance with the following are eligible for appearing in the CTET:
National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.
Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the Appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.

The application fee applicable for CTET July-2023 is as under:

Central TET July 2023 Exam – Apply Online
The exam will be conducted from July to August 2023 and each will be 2.5 hours long with a weightage of 150 marks. The test is conducted for lower primary (CTET 1) teachers; upper primary (CTET 2)teachers; high school (CTET 3)teachers; language teachers up to upper primary or specialist and physical education teachers up to high school level (CTET 4) and; those who appeared for D.Ed/B.Ed
Method of Submission of Online Application Form
STEP 1: Log on to CTET official website https://ctet.nic.in. STEP 2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP 4: Upload latest Scanned Photograph and Signature
STEP 5: Pay Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking. The candidates must note that the examination city of their choice will be allotted on the first come first served basis only as per availability of capacity in the city of examination. The candidates, who complete the online application process and pay the fee on first come first served basis, will be allotted the examination city of their choice as per availability in that particular city. The total capacity in a particular city will also be available on the portal. If the total capacity of a particular city is full during completion of application process or making payment of examination fee or updation of transaction on portal, the candidate will be given the option either to select any other city of examination or cancel the transaction. If a candidate cancels the transaction, full fee will be refunded to his /her account as per mode of payment and application will not be considered for this examination of CTET. The request for change of examination city will not be accepted in any case.
STEP 6: Print Confirmation page for record and future reference.
How to apply for CTET exams July 2023:
Candidates can apply “ON-LINE‟ through CTET website https://ctet.nic.in. The candidate should supply all details while filling the Online Form and upload their scanned images of latest photograph & signature. After successful submission of data and requisite fee Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation Page.

CTET July 2023 Exam Pattern
Main question paper shall be Bilingual (Hindi/English).
All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each carrying one mark and there will be no negative marking.
There will be two papers of CTET.
- Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
- Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

- The Test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items will be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I-V by the NCERT.
- The questions in the test for Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I – V but their difficulty standard as well as linkages, could be up to the Secondary stage.

CTET Qualifying Marks
As per NCTE Notification No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dated 11.02.2011: A person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass.
- School managements (Government, local bodies, government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ST,OBC, differently abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
- Should give weightage to the CTET scores in the recruitment process however, qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
