Educational Qualifications
Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications from an Indian Nursing Council (INC) or State Medical Faculty recognized institute/university by the last date of application:
- B.Sc Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc Nursing:
- B.Sc Nursing (4-year course) OR B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) (2-year course).
- Must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State / Indian Nursing Council.
- Diploma in GNM:
- Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
- Registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State / Indian Nursing Council.
- Minimum 02 years of work experience in a 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the GNM qualification.
Salary & Pay Scale
- Selected Staff Nurses will be appointed under the applicable Uttar Pradesh state government pay structure for non-teaching medical staff (7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix).
- In addition to basic pay, recruits will be eligible for standard allowances as per institute and government rules.

Selection Process
The selection process for GIMS Staff Nurse posts comprises the following stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Total Questions: 100 Objective Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
- Language: Bilingual (English & Hindi).
- Marks Distribution: 80% on Theoretical Nursing Knowledge and 20% on Practical Nursing Knowledge.
- Syllabus Breakup:
- Section A (60 Questions): Core Nursing Subjects (Mental Health, Fundamentals of Nursing, Child Health, Medical-Surgical, Pharmacology, Pathology, etc.).
- Section B (25 Questions): Applied Sciences & Research (Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Psychology, Research & Statistics, etc.).
- Section C (15 Questions): Basic Sciences, Communicative English, Community Health, Ethics, Informatics.
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks (1/4th) will be deducted for each wrong answer. No penalty for unanswered questions.
- Qualifying Marks: 40% for General/EWS/OBC; 35% for SC/ST candidates.
- Biometric & Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates in the CBT merit list must produce original credentials.
- Medical Examination: Final appointment depends on passing the mandatory medical fitness check.
