GSSSB Work Assistant Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details

The GSSSB is conducting this recruitment to fill 1,663 Work Assistant (Class-3) positions across general, reserved, female, and special horizontal categories.

Horizontal Reservation: 113 posts for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and 155 posts for Ex-Servicemen.

GSSSB Work Assistant Jobs 2026 Education Details

• Candidates must possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering obtained from a Technical Examination Board or a recognized University/Institute, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.

• Equivalent Recognized Qualifications include: Diploma in Civil (Construction), Diploma in Civil (Public Health & Environment), Diploma in Construction Technology, Diploma in Survey Engineering, Diploma in Civil Draftsman, Diploma in Transportation Engineering, etc.

• Important Restriction: Candidates holding a Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering are not eligible to apply.

• Must possess basic computer knowledge as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules and adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi, or both.

Salary Details

• Initial 5 Years: Appointees will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs. 26,000/- along with other admissible benefits as per government resolutions.

• Regular Scale: Upon satisfactory completion of 5 years of service, candidates will be eligible for regular pay under the 7th Pay Commission in the pay scale of Rs. 25,500 – 81,100/- (Level-4).

Age Limit & Relaxations

Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of 29.10.2026.

• General Female Candidates: 5 years’ relaxation (up to 38 years).
• Reserved Category Male Candidates (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS): 5 years relaxation (up to 38 years).
• Reserved Category Female Candidates: 10 years relaxation (up to 43 years).
• PwBD Candidates: 10 to 20 years relaxation based on category and gender (up to a maximum of 45 years).
• Ex-Servicemen: Service period plus 3 years.

Selection Process

• Single Stage Objective Examination: Conducted in Computer Based Response Test (CBRT) or OMR format, totaling 210 questions for 210 marks across 3 hours (180 minutes).

  • Part-A (Non-Technical): 90 Questions (90 Marks) covering Reasoning & Data Interpretation (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks), and Constitution, Current Affairs & Comprehension (30 marks).

  • Part-B (Technical): 120 Questions (120 Marks) covering topics related to the Civil Engineering diploma syllabus.

• Negative Marking: $1/4$ (0.25) marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.

• Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% qualifying marks are required in Part-A and Part-B independently.

• Document Verification: Candidates qualifying the written exam will be shortlisted for certificate verification in an approximate 1:2 ratio based on merit.

Application Fee

• Unreserved (General) Candidates: Rs. 500/-

• Reserved Categories (SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, Female, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen): Rs. 400/-

• Fee Refund: The examination fee will be refunded to candidates who appear for the examination. Fees must be paid online via Net Banking, Debit Card, UPI, or Wallets by November 1, 2026.

How to Apply

1. Visit the official Gujarat OJAS portal at ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
2. If you do not have an active account, complete the One Time Registration (OTR) on the portal.
3. Navigate to “Online Application” > “Apply” and select “GSSSB” from the department options.
4. Locate Advertisement No. 461/202627 for “Work Assistant, Class-3” and click “Apply Now”.
5. Enter your OTR Registration Number and Date of Birth to auto-populate basic details.
6. Complete educational background, address details, and enter your bank account information (along with passbook image upload) for fee refund purposes.
7. Upload your recent passport-size photograph (with white background and date taken) and signature in JPG format (up to 15 KB each).
8. Accept the declaration and submit the form to generate an Application Number.
9. Confirm your application using your Application Number and Date of Birth (ensure all entries are accurate, as changes are not permitted after confirmation).
10. Click on “Print Application Form / Pay Fees” to pay the application fee online before 01.11.2026 and download the final submitted application and fee receipt for future reference.
