Age Relaxations:
SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years relaxation (where posts are reserved).

Selection Process
The selection mode across disciplines is structured into two stages:
Written Test (Offline OMR Mode):
Held at Tirunelveli and Chennai.
Technical Assistant & Technician ‘B’: 80 Multiple Choice Questions (90 minutes) based on the academic curriculum. Marking scheme: +1 mark for correct answers, -0.33 marks for wrong answers. Passing score: 32/80 for UR and 24/80 for reserved categories.
Cook ‘A’ & Fireman ‘A’: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (120 minutes). Marking scheme: +1 mark for correct answers, -0.25 marks for wrong answers.
Skill Test (Qualifying ‘GO/NO-GO’ Basis):
Candidates qualifying the written test will be shortlisted for the skill test in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates per post; 1:50 ratio for Fireman ‘A’).
Curriculum/Trade Skill Test (Post Codes 60 to 68 & 70): Conducted for 100 marks (minimum qualifying score: 50 marks for UR, 40 marks for reserved categories, 60 marks for Cook ‘A’).
Physical Efficiency Test & Medical Check (Fireman ‘A’): Stage 1 (1500m / 800m run), Stage 2 (rope climbing, dummy carry, long jump, 100m run), followed by a detailed medical examination.
Final Merit Listing: Empanelment is determined strictly based on the marks secured in the Written Test among those who clear the qualifying Skill Test.
