Vacancy Details
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has announced 2863 vacancies for Class-IV (MTS) and Sanitation Worker positions across UT, Divisional, and District cadres under various departments. Cadre and department allocation will be conducted strictly based on candidate merit-cum-preference.

Education Details
- Class-IV (MTS): Minimum qualification is Matriculation (10th Pass) and maximum qualification is 10+2. Candidates holding qualifications higher than 10+2 are not eligible to apply.
- Sanitation Worker: Minimum qualification is 8th Pass and maximum qualification is 10+2. Candidates possessing qualifications above 10+2 are not eligible.
Salary
Appointed candidates will receive a monthly salary under Pay Scale SL1 (₹14,800 – ₹47,100) along with applicable allowances governed by the rules of the Government of UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

(Note: A 5-year upper age relaxation is available for candidates claiming benefit as casual workers under S.O. 184 of 2020).
Selection Process
The final selection will be made out of 100 marks based on written examination scores and additional weightage points under S.O. 184 of 2020:
- Written Examination: Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions in English, with a negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong response.
- UT Cadre: Written Test carries 85 Marks.
- Divisional Cadre: Written Test carries 80 Marks.
- District Cadre: Written Test carries 75 Marks.
- Additional Weightage Points:
- Home District / Home Division Candidates: 10 marks (District Cadre) or 5 marks (Divisional Cadre).
- Candidates with no family member in government service: 5 marks.
- Widows, divorced women, judicially separated women, and orphan girls: 5 marks.
- Casual workers engaged for 5 years or more: 5 marks.
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must present original academic, domicile, and category certificates before the Board.
