Kochi Metro Rail Limited has announced 70 tentative apprentice openings across engineering, non-technical graduate, diploma, and ITI trade disciplines for a one-year training tenure. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwBD categories apply strictly as per Government guidelines.

Kochi Metro Rail Apprentice Jobs 2026 Education Details

• Graduate Apprentices (Technical): Full-time 4-year regular B.Tech/B.E degree in Civil, EEE/Electrical, ECE/Electronics & Instrumentation, Mechanical, or IT/Computer Science from a government-recognized university or institute.

• Graduate Apprentices (Non-Technical): Full-time 3-year regular degree in BBA, B.Com, or BCA from a recognized institution.

• Diploma Technician: Full-time 3-year regular Diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Computer Science.

• Trade Apprentice (ITI Tradesmen): Full-time regular ITI Trade certificate in Electrician, Electronics, Welder, Fitter, or Plumber.

• Key Eligibility Conditions:

  • Candidates must have passed their final examination within 5 years prior to the application closing date (November 10, 2026).

  • Qualifications obtained via part-time, correspondence, distance learning, or online modes are not eligible.

  • Candidates awaiting final results or those who have already undergone/are currently undergoing apprenticeship training elsewhere are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: Candidates must have completed at least 18 years of age.

• Pass-out Window: Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination within five years from the closing date of application.

Selection Process

• No Written Exam or Interview: There is no written examination or personal interview for engaging apprentices in KMRL.

• Merit & Document Verification: Shortlisting is based on eligibility compliance and academic credentials, followed by verification of original documents/certificates.

• Final Engagement: Selected candidates must accept the tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal and submit a medical fitness certificate (as per the Apprentices Act, 1961) along with police verification.

• No Application Fee: Candidates of all categories are exempted from paying any application fee for this recruitment drive.

Kochi Metro Rail Apprentice Recruitment 2026 How to Apply

1. Step 1 (Portal Registration):

   • ITI Candidates: Register online as a candidate/student on the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.

   • Graduate & Diploma Candidates: Register online on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in.

2. Complete and update your online profile to 100% by uploading all required educational and personal documents.

3. Note down the generated NAPS/NATS Registration/Enrolment Number.

4. Step 2 (Offline Form Submission): Download and print the official Apprentice Bio-Data Form attached to the KMRL notification.

5. Fill out the Bio-Data Form in CAPITAL LETTERS, affix a recent passport-size photograph, and sign the declaration.

6. Attach self-attested copies of required documents:

   • Proof of NAPS/NATS Registration/Enrolment ID and 100% completed profile.

   • Clear copies of educational certificates and consolidated mark sheets (with percentage conversion or specialization letter from the institute, if not explicitly mentioned on the mark sheet).

   • Proof of age (Matriculation Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Passport, etc.).

   • SC/ST/Latest OBC (NCL)/EWS/PwBD certificate in Govt. of India format (if applicable).
