MP High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2026: Education Details

Candidates must possess all prescribed qualifications as on the application deadline (October 27, 2026):

  • Stenographer Grade-II:

    • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

    • Valid C.P.C.T. scorecard from MAP-IT or a recognized institution.

    • Hindi Shorthand examination passed with a minimum speed of 100 W.P.M. from an MP Government recognized board.

    • One-year diploma in Computer Application from an MP Government recognized institution (B.E./B.Tech CS/IT, MCA, BCA, or B.Sc. IT/CS are also accepted).

  • Stenographer Grade-III & Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff):

    • Graduation in any stream from a recognized University.

    • Valid C.P.C.T. scorecard from MAP-IT or a recognized agency.

    • Hindi Shorthand examination passed with a minimum speed of 80 W.P.M. from a recognized board.

    • One-year Computer Application diploma course passed from a recognized institute.

  • Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing):

    • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.

    • Valid C.P.C.T. scorecard.

    • English Shorthand examination passed with a minimum speed of 80 W.P.M. from a recognized institution.

    • One-year Computer Application diploma course passed from a recognized institute.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive monthly remuneration under the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix as detailed below:

  • Stenographer Grade-II: Pay Matrix Level Rs. 28,700 – Rs. 91,300/- (Pre-revised: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2,800/-).

  • Stenographer Grade-III: Pay Matrix Level Rs. 25,300 – Rs. 80,500/- (Pre-revised: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 2,400/-).

  • Stenographer Grade-III (Court Manager Staff): Pay Matrix Level Rs. 19,500 – Rs. 62,000/- (Pre-revised: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1,900/-).

  • Assistant Grade-III (English Knowing): Pay Matrix Level Rs. 19,500 – Rs. 62,000/- (Pre-revised: Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs. 1,900/-).

Age Limit

The age is reckoned as on January 1, 2026 (minimum age is 18 years):

  • Male Applicants (Unreserved / Outside MP / EWS of MP): Maximum 40 years.

  • Male & Female Applicants (OBC / SC / ST of MP): Maximum 45 years.

  • All Female Applicants & All PwD Applicants (MP & Other States): Maximum 45 years.

  • MP State Govt. / Corporation Employees & Home Guards: Maximum 45 years.

  • Note: Candidates belonging to reserved categories of other states will be treated as Unreserved candidates.

Selection Process

The selection consists of two successive stages:

  1. Online Preliminary Examination (Screening Test – 100 Marks):

    • Joint computer-based test comprising 100 objective-type questions (1 mark each) for a duration of 120 minutes.

    • Syllabus sections include: GK + GS (including MP GK) – 20 marks; Maths + Logical Reasoning – 20 marks; General Hindi – 20 marks; English Knowledge – 20 marks; Computer Knowledge – 20 marks.

    • Candidates are shortlisted for the skill test in a ratio of 1:5 per vacancy based on category-wise merit.

  2. Shorthand Skill Test (100 Marks):

    • Steno Gr-II / III / Court Manager Staff: 400 words Hindi dictation (5 minutes) + 30 minutes transcription typing on computer using Remington Gail font (Total: 35 minutes).

    • Assistant Gr-III (English Knowing): 400 words English dictation (5 minutes) + 30 minutes transcription typing on computer (Total: 35 minutes).

    • Marking: 0.50 mark deducted per mistake (spelling, omitted words, spacing errors). Candidates making more than 120 errors will receive zero marks.

    • Minimum Qualifying Marks in Skill Test: UR/OBC: 55%, EWS: 49.5%, SC: 45%, ST/PwD: 40%.

  3. Service Bond: Appointed candidates must execute a service bond of Rs. 2,00,000/- (Two Lakhs) agreeing to serve for a minimum of 3 years.

MP High Court Stenographer Recruitment 2026: How to Apply

  • Visit the official portal of MPHC at mphc.gov.in.
  • Click on “Recruitment / Result” and then select “Click on Online Application Forms / Admit Cards”.
  • Click on Registration to fill in personal details and generate your User ID and Password.
  • Log in using your User ID and Password and click on the Application link.
  • Choose your preferred post(s) carefully, enter educational information, and upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature.
  • Preview the filled application form and proceed to pay the application fee via Debit Card or Net Banking.
  • Submit the form and download/print the final application confirmation sheet for future selection rounds.
