Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Sri Vijaya Puram has announced 50 apprenticeship seats across 13 ITI trades for the IT-03 batch (2026-27). The recruitment offers technical practical training for eligible ITI passouts in designated trades like Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, and Mechanic.

Educational Qualification

• Basic Academic Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
• Technical Qualification: ITI passed certificate (NCVT or SCVT) in the respective relevant trade.
• Ineligibility: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any government, public, or private organization under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are not eligible.

Stipend Details

• Selected apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend in accordance with the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 (as amended from time to time by the Government of India).
• Basic medical facilities from the Yard Medical Centre will be provided for work-related injuries during the training period.
• Safety gear (overalls, safety shoes, gloves, goggles, helmet, and ear defenders) and text-books on loan will be provided as per rules.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: Candidate must be at least 18 years old as of one day prior to the commencement date of training at NSRY Sri Vijaya Puram.
• Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) directives.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting (Preliminary Merit List): Candidates will be shortlisted trade-wise and category-wise based on the aggregate percentage of marks scored in Std 10th and ITI.
2. Interview / Trade Test (50 Marks): Shortlisted candidates will receive call letters via registered email to appear for an interview at the Apprentice Training School, NSRY, Sri Vijaya Puram to test their technical trade skills.
3. Final Merit List: Prepared based on interview performance. In case of a tie, the elder candidate will be ranked higher.
4. Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Candidates must undergo verification of original certificates and a physical medical examination by the Yard Medical Officer.
