NCET 2026 Notification: Apply Online for 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP): The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026. This national-level examination is conducted for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the Academic Session 2026-27. The ITEP is a dual-major, holistic bachelor’s degree program that offers a specialization in Education alongside a discipline such as History, Mathematics, Science, or the Arts. Candidates looking to pursue a career in teaching immediately after Class 12 can apply for admission into prestigious Central/State Universities, IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges across India.

Eligibility Details

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to appear for NCET 2026:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed the Class 12 / equivalent examination or are appearing in the Class 12 board exams in 2026 are eligible to apply.

  • Age Limit: For appearing in the NCET 2026, there is no minimum or maximum age limit. However, candidates must fulfill the specific age criteria (if any) of the University, Institution, or Government College where they seek admission.

Participating Institutes

The NCET 2026 score is valid for admission to the 4-Year ITEP in selected:

  • Central and State Universities
  • Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
  • National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
  • Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs)
  • Government Colleges.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the requisite fee online via Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.

Exam Pattern

The NCET 2026 will be an objective-type test with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Mode of Exam: Computer-Based Test (CBT).

  • Duration: 180 Minutes.

  • Total Questions: 160 questions to be attempted out of 181.

  • Medium: The test will be conducted in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

How to Apply

  1. Visit the official website: https://exams.nta.nic.in/ncet/.
  2. Click on the registration link and create a password to generate an Application Number.
  3. Log in using the system-generated Application Number and Password.
  4. Fill in the personal details, educational qualifications, and choose examination cities.
  5. Upload scanned images of your Photograph, Signature, and PwD Certificate (if applicable).
  6. Pay the examination fee online and print the Confirmation Page for future reference.
