NICL Assistants Jobs: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
To apply for the NICL Assistant Recruitment 2026, candidates must meet the specific nationality requirements set by the organization.
A candidate must fall into one of the following categories to be eligible:
- A citizen of India.
- A subject of Nepal.
- A subject of Bhutan.
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in India permanently.
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia) and Vietnam, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Important Note: Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizenship (i.e., subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees, or migrants of Indian origin) must hold a valid certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India in their favor.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Candidates must hold a valid certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as of 01.07.2026.
Knowledge of reading, writing, and speaking the Regional Language of the respective State/UT against the vacancies for which a candidate applies is essential.
Age Limit
- The minimum age limit is 21 years.
- The maximum age limit is 30 years as of 01.07.2026.
- Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1996 and not later than 01.07.2005 (inclusive of both days).
The upper age limit will be relaxed as under:
Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST): Relaxation of 5 years.
Other Backward Classes (OBC, Non-Creamy layer): Relaxation of 3 years.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – General/EWS: Relaxation of 10 years.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – OBC: Relaxation of 13 years.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – SC/ST: Relaxation of 15 years.
Ex-Servicemen and Disabled Ex-Servicemen: Allowed the actual period of service rendered in the defense forces plus 3 years. For Disabled Ex-Servicemen belonging to SC/ST, the relaxation is the actual period of service plus 8 years. Both are subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years.
Widows, Divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands (who have not remarried): Age concession goes up to 35 years of age for General/EWS candidates. The concession is granted up to 38 years for OBC candidates and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
Existing Employees of the Company: Relaxation of 5 years.
Salary Structure
The scale of pay for the Assistant post is Rs. 36,290 – 2,115(1) – 38,405 up to Rs. 1,00,865.
The total gross emoluments will be approximately Rs. 53,000/- per month during the initial stage in a Metro city.
Selected employees will also receive benefits such as lump-sum Domiciliary Medical Benefit, Membership of Group Mediclaim Policy, and Leave Travel Subsidy as per company rules.
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of three main stages:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)
The Preliminary Exam consists of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) and is conducted online.

Penalty for Wrong Answers
- There will be negative marking in both the Preliminary and Main objective examinations.
- For every incorrect answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
- No marks will be deducted for questions left un-attempted.
Regional Language Test: Candidates who qualify in the Main Exam will be shortlisted for a qualifying Regional Language Test.
Note: There will be a penalty (one-fourth of the marks deducted) for wrong answers marked in both the Preliminary and Main objective tests.

The application fees can be paid from 18th July 2026 to 07th August 2026 using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, or Mobile Wallets.

Candidates must submit their applications exclusively via online mode by following these steps:

Navigate to the “RECRUITMENT” section and click on the “APPLY ONLINE” option.
Click the “Click here for New Registration” tab and enter basic contact details to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
Log in and fill out the detailed application form carefully.
Upload the necessary scanned documents, including a recent passport-style photograph, signature (in black ink), left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration in English.
Click on “Preview” to verify all entered details before finalizing the registration.
Proceed to the “PAYMENT” tab to complete the online transaction.
Finally, print the e-Receipt and the submitted online application form for future reference.
