Northeast Frontier Railway has announced a total of 6777 provisional apprenticeship training slots across various divisions and workshops. Candidates are permitted to submit only one application and must specify their unit preference in order of priority.

Education Details
For Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology): Candidates must have passed the 12th class examination under the 10+2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
For All Other Trades: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or its equivalent under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board. Note that the 50% minimum aggregate matrix requirement is not applicable to SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
Technical Qualification: Candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT or a Provisional Certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Stipend Details
Minimum Stipend: ITI certificate holders (NTC/STC) will receive a minimum monthly stipend of 9,600 per month.
Exemption Increments: For trades where institutional training grants a curriculum exemption, the stipend is 10,560 per month for the 2nd year (10% increase) and 11,040 per month for the 3rd year (15% increase).
Accommodation Note: The railway administration will not provide any hostel accommodation; selected candidates must arrange their own lodging during the training period.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 15 years as on the closing date of application (19-08-2026).
Maximum Age: 24 years as on the closing date of application (19-08-2026).
Upper Age Relaxations:
SC / ST Candidates: 5 years.
OBC Candidates: 3 years.
PwBD Candidates: 10 years.
Ex-Servicemen (ExSM): 10 additional years to the extent of defense service rendered plus 3 years (minimum 6 months continuous service required).
Selection Process
Merit-Based Preparation: The selection will be done strictly on a unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise merit list.
Score Calculation: The final panel score is calculated using the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (min 50% aggregate required) and the ITI trade marks. For Medical Laboratory Technicians, the average calculation uses Matriculation and 12th Science marks.
Tie-Breaking Rule: If candidates have identical scores, the older candidate will be ranked higher. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who cleared the matriculation exam earlier takes precedence.
Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates up to 1.5 times the number of slots will be called for document verification. Candidates must also produce a medical fitness certificate signed by an authorized Government Doctor (Gazetted) not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon.
Application Fee
General / OBC / EWS Candidates: 100 (Non-refundable, payable online).
Fee Exemption: SC, ST, PwBD, EBC (with annual family income below 50,000), and Women candidates are completely exempted from paying the application fee.
Application Modification Fee: If a candidate wants to correct details after final submission, a fee of 50 is charged for each modification occasion (registration details cannot be changed).

Complete the primary registration process on the portal using a valid mobile number and email ID.
Log in with your new credentials and fill out the online application form carefully.
Upload scanned copies of required documents, including Class 10/12 mark sheets, ITI pass certificates, caste certificates, or disability certificates where applicable.
Upload clear scanned soft copies of your passport-size color photograph and signature according to portal specifications.
Pay the non-refundable application fee of 100 via the integrated online payment gateway (if applicable).
Verify the payment status and submit the final application.
Download and print the generated copy of the online application form for future verification rounds.
