Odisha SSB Jobs 2026 Education Qualification

• Prescribed Degree: Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s Degree (+3 / Graduation) with Honours in the respective practical subject (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Education, Psychology, Home Science, Anthropology, or Geography) from a recognized University.

• State Equivalence: Candidates who acquired degrees outside Odisha must furnish an equivalence certificate issued by a recognized university in Odisha along with institution affiliation proof.

• Grade Conversion: Candidates evaluated on a CGPA/Grade-Point system must enter their equivalent percentage based on their institute’s official conversion formula.

Other Eligibility Conditions

• Nationality & Domicile: Must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of the State of Odisha.

• Odia Language Requirement: Candidates must be able to speak, read, and write Odia and must have passed Matriculation (HSC) or equivalent with Odia as a language subject, or passed an Odia examination of Middle School standard.

• Marital Status: Must not have more than one spouse living (unless legally exempted by the State Government).

• In-Service Candidates: State government employees must inform their Head of Office and furnish a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before certificate verification.

Odisha SSB Notification 2026 Salary & Pay Scale

• Pay Scale: Appointed candidates are placed in Group ‘B’, Level 9 of the Pay Matrix as per the Odisha Revised Scales of Pay (ORSP) Rules, 2017.

• Allowances: Entitled to usual Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other benefits as approved by the Department of Higher Education.

Age is reckoned as on January 01, 2026:

• Minimum Age: 21 Years (Born not later than January 01, 2005)

• Maximum Age: 42 Years (Born not earlier than January 01, 1984)

Upper Age Concessions:

Odisha SSB Jobs 2026 Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection process is based entirely on performance in a single-stage written test without any viva-voce:

Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal marks in the written test, candidate rank is determined by the aggregate percentage in the Bachelor’s Degree examination. If the tie persists, the older candidate will be placed higher.
