A candidate must be either:
- A citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note for Non-Citizens: Candidates belonging to the categories of Nepal, Bhutan, and migrants of Indian origin must possess a certificate of eligibility issued in their favor by the Government of India. A candidate whose certificate is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the final offer of appointment will only be given after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to them by the Government.
Education Details

- DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ (in Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Culture, and SSC): Passed 12th Standard in Science stream with Mathematics as a compulsory subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.
- LDC / JSA and other DEO Posts: Passed 12th Standard or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
- Candidates appearing in their 12th Standard exam are eligible to apply, provided they obtain the qualifying result on or before October 7, 2026.

The recruitment process will be conducted through two primary computer-based stages, followed by document scrutiny:
- Tier-I Examination (Objective CBE): 100 questions (200 marks) testing English Language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness (60 minutes duration; 0.50 negative marking per wrong response).
- Tier-II Examination (CBE):
- Session-I: Section-I (Mathematical Abilities, Reasoning – 180 marks), Section-II (English Language & Comprehension, General Awareness – 180 marks), and Section-III (Computer Knowledge Test – 45 marks, qualifying in nature).
- Session-II: Section-IV (Mandatory Skill Test / Typing Test for DEO and LDC/JSA, qualifying in nature).
- Document Verification (DV): Conducted directly by the respective User Ministries or Departments after the declaration of the final results.

- Complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) by clicking on “Login or Register” if not already registered on the new portal.
- Log in using your generated Registration Number and password.
- Locate the link for Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination 2026 under the “Latest Notifications” dashboard and click on “Apply”.
- Select your regional exam centre preferences, medium of examination, and typing test medium.
- Capture your live photograph following on-screen camera instructions (plain background, good light, no caps or spectacles).
- Upload your scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 KB and 20 KB).
- Review all the details carefully through the form preview, accept the declaration, and proceed to submit.
- Pay the application fee online (if applicable) and print a copy of the completed application form for your records.
