Eligibility Details
Target Cadre: Only in-service teachers currently employed in Telangana Government, Local Body, TGREIS, Welfare Residential Schools, Telangana Model Schools, or other government departments are permitted to apply.
Paper-I Eligibility: Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) and LFL Head Masters appointed with D.El.Ed or B.Ed qualifications working for classes I to V.
Paper-II Eligibility: School Assistants, Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), Language Pandits, and High School Head Masters handling classes VI to VIII.
Both Papers: Primary teachers (Classes I–V) who hold required qualifications and intend to teach upper primary classes (Classes VI–VIII) must appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II.
Note: Qualifying this exam cannot be used for future direct recruitment drives.
Age Limit
As this exam is exclusively intended for serving in-service teachers, applicants must comply with the existing service rules and age parameters established by the Government of Telangana for active service employees.
Cut Off / Qualifying Marks
To pass the TG TET In-Service Examination 2026, candidates must secure the minimum percentage criteria set for their respective categories:

Selection Process
Computer-Based Test (CBT): Candidates must write an online objective test containing 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 marks. There is no negative marking.
Qualifying Status: Candidates securing scores above the category-wise cut-off percentage receive a life-long valid TGTET pass certificate/memo for service continuity and promotions.

The application fee varies according to the category and number of papers selected:

How to Apply

schooledu.telangana.gov.in.Step 2: Download and read the TGTET In-Service Teachers 2026 Information Bulletin thoroughly to confirm eligibility.
Step 3: Click on the online fee payment link and submit preliminary details (Name, DOB, Mobile Number, Community, etc.).
Step 4: Pay the application fee online to generate a unique Journal Number.
Step 5: Return to the home page, click on “Application Submission”, and log in using your Journal Number, Date of Payment, and Date of Birth.
Step 6: Fill out the online application form with accurate personal and professional details.
Step 7: Upload clear scanned images of your photograph (up to 500 KB) and signature (up to 100 KB) in JPEG format.
Step 8: Preview all details carefully, press “Submit”, and print out a copy of the application form for future record.
