Education Details
Candidates must have passed their qualifying examinations during the years 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025.
- Graduate Apprentices (Engineering): Must hold a regular, full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University or an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament.
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Must possess a regular, full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council, Board of Technical Education, or University.
- Non-Engineering Graduates: Must hold a regular, full-time Arts, Science, Commerce, or Humanities degree (like BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BBM, BCA) from a UGC-approved Statutory or Deemed University.
Salary
- Category I (Graduate Apprentices – Engg): INR 9,000/- per month.
- Category II (Technician Diploma Apprentices): INR 8,000/- per month.
- Category III (Non-Engineering Graduates): INR 9,000/- per month.
Age Limit
The age limit for candidates will be governed as per the standard Apprenticeship Rules.
Selection Process
The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) will shortlist candidates based solely on the percentage of marks obtained in their basic prescribed educational qualifications.
Shortlisted candidates will be notified through their registered Email ID.
Final selection is subject to successful Certificate Verification, which will be held at PWD, Chennai.
Application Fee
The official notification does not stipulate an application fee. However, please note that no Traveling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid to candidates for attending the certificate verification.

- Register as a Student by filling out the necessary forms to generate a 12-digit unique Enrollment Number.
- Log into the portal using your registered email ID and password.
- Navigate to the “Apply against advertised vacancies” section.
- Search specifically for “PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TAMILNADU”.
- Click on the “Apply” button and verify that your application status changes to “applied”.
- Mandatorily upload your provisional certificate or consolidated mark sheet and enter your exact percentage of marks or CGPA; applications without the percentage of marks will not be considered.
