Eligibility Criteria
To successfully apply for the UP Scholarship, students must meet the following baseline requirements:
- Residency: The applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh and study within the state.
- Community Categories: The scheme is open to candidates belonging to General, SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities.
- Income Limit: The total annual family income of the applicant must not exceed 2,50,000.
- Institutional Status: Students must be enrolled in recognized institutions; those studying in blacklisted institutes are not eligible.
Scholarship Payment Disbursement
The scholarship funds bypass intermediaries and are transferred directly into the students’ bank accounts.
- Account Requirement: The student’s bank account must be in their own name and strictly linked to their Aadhaar card.
- Renewal Students (Classes 9-12): Successful applicants can expect the payment to be credited between October 25 and October 31, 2026.
- Fresh Applicants (Classes 9-12): Because fresh applications require extended administrative verification, the payment process is scheduled for completion between January 25 and January 31, 2027.

How to Apply Online
- Visit the official Uttar Pradesh Scholarship portal at scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Click on the “One Time Registration (OTR)” link to authenticate your active mobile number via OTP.
- Complete the Aadhaar e-KYC process to generate your unique OTR number; save this number securely.
- Navigate to the “Student” tab on the homepage, click “Registration,” and select the appropriate pre-matric or post-matric option alongside your social category.
- Enter your OTR number, fill in the necessary academic details, and upload the required documents.
- Submit the application online and generate the final printout to submit to your school before the deadline.
