Education Details

To be eligible for the UPPSC PCS 2026 exam, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university by the application deadline. Certain specialized roles require specific qualifications (e.g., an LLB for the Sub-Registrar post or a degree in Medical Sciences for health-related positions). Final-year degree students are fully eligible to apply, provided they can produce their final mark sheet during the Mains Detailed Application Form (DAF) stage.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of July 1, 2026. Age relaxation rules apply for reserved categories as per the Uttar Pradesh government guidelines:

• SC / ST / OBC / Skilled Sportsmen: Up to 45 years (5-year relaxation)

• PwD Candidates: Up to 55 years (15-year relaxation)

Selection Process

The recruitment for UPPSC PCS involves a rigorous, multi-stage selection process:

1. Preliminary Examination: An objective-type offline screening test consisting of two papers (General Studies I and CSAT).

2. Mains Examination: A descriptive written test comprising eight compulsory papers, including General Hindi, Essay writing, and core General Studies topics.
