UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist Eligibility & Education Details 2026
To be eligible for the Veterinary Pharmacist post, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:
- PET Requirement: Must have appeared in the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and hold a valid positive score. Candidates with zero or negative scores are ineligible.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed the Intermediate (12th) examination with Biology (Science) from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education UP or an equivalent recognized examination.
- Technical Qualification: Must possess a 2-year 3-month Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy from a university or institution established by law in India.
- Registration: Must be registered with the competent council or institution (if applicable). (Note: The Animal Husbandry Department has clarified that since the Veterinary Pharmacy Council is currently not in existence in UP, this registration is presently not required).
- Language: Must have adequate knowledge of the Hindi language in the Devanagari script.

The selection process for the UPSSSC Veterinary Pharmacist involves the following stages:
- Shortlisting via PET-2025: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination based on their normalized PET-2025 scores. The commission will call candidates up to 15 times the number of category-wise vacancies.
- Mains Written Examination: A 2-hour objective type exam consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks. A negative marking of 0.25 (1/4th) marks will be applied for every incorrect answer. The exam structure includes:
