WCL Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 444 Mining Sirdar & Electrical Supervisor Posts

WCL Mining Sirdar & Electrical Supervisor Recruitment 2026: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a Mini Ratna Category-I Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, has released an official employment notification (Employment Notification No. 2026/69) inviting online applications for regular statutory supervisory positions. The recruitment drive aims to fill 444 regular vacancies for the posts of Mining Sirdar (T&S Grade-C) and Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical) / Electrical Supervisor (T&S Grade-C) in its underground and opencast mines across Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Western Coalfields Job Vacancy Details

The total 444 vacancies are distributed across technical and supervisory cadres, with reservation categories as per Government of India guidelines:

*Note: As per Ministry guidelines, the post of Mining Sirdar is not identified for PwBD reservation.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational & Technical Qualifications

• Mining Sirdar, T&S Grade-C:

  • Valid Mining Sirdar Certificate of Competency issued by DGMS + Valid Gas Testing Certificate + Valid First-Aid Certificate + 3 years of underground coal mining experience.

  • OR Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institute + Valid Overman Competency Certificate issued by DGMS + Valid Gas Testing Certificate + Valid First-Aid Certificate.

• Assistant Foreman (Trainee) (Electrical) / Electrical Supervisor, T&S Grade-C:

  • Diploma (Minimum 3 years full-time course) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.

  • Valid Electrical Supervisory Certificate for Mines issued by the appropriate Government authority.

Note: Qualifications acquired through distance learning or part-time courses are not eligible. Candidates with restricted competency certificates are also not eligible.

2. Age Limit (as on 10.08.2026)

• Minimum Age: 18 years

• Maximum Age: 30 years for Unreserved (UR) & EWS candidates

Upper Age Relaxations:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

• SC / ST Category: 5 years

• PwBD (UR): 10 years

• PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 years

• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years

• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Service period + 3 years

• Departmental Candidates (CIL & Subsidiaries): No upper age limit

Pay Scale & Training Period

Selected candidates will receive basic pay in accordance with the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) XI:

• Initial Basic Pay: ₹47,330.25 per month.

• Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), attendance bonus, special allowance, HRA, transport subsidy, and medical facilities as per NCWA XI provisions.

• Probation / Training Period:

  • Mining Sirdar: 6 months probation from the date of joining.

  • Assistant Foreman (Electrical): 2 years training from the date of joining.

Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Selection will be made purely on the basis of merit in a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification:

Computer Based Test (CBT) Pattern

• Total Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Part 1 (General Aptitude): 20 Questions (1 mark each)

  • Part 2 (Technical Domain): 80 Questions (1 mark each)

• Total Marks: 100 Marks

• Duration: 90 Minutes

• Negative Marking: No negative marking for wrong answers

• Medium: Bilingual (English & Hindi)

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• UR & EWS Category: 50 Marks

• OBC (NCL) Category: 45 Marks

• SC / ST Category: 40 Marks

Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for document verification in a 1:3 ratio based on merit.
