AP POLYCET 2026 Registration: The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh, Mangalagiri, has released a notification for the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP POLYCET)2026. This state-level entrance examination serves as the gateway for students seeking admission into various diploma programs across Engineering and Non-Engineering disciplines in Govt and private Polytechnic Colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Qualified candidates will be granted admission into Government, Aided, Private, and Unaided Polytechnics in Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic session.

AP POLYCET 2026 Overview

AP POLYCET 2026 Polytechnic Entrance Notification: The State Board of  Technical  Education and  Training,  Andhra Pradesh (SBTET AP) will conduct the AP Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) on April 25, 2026. Candidates seeking admission into all  Diploma  Courses in Engineering / Non-Engineering/Technology offered at Polytechnics/institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics / Private Engineering Colleges offering 2nd shift Polytechnics in the State of Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2026-2027 will have to attempt AP POLYCET 2026. A Total of 69 coordination centers will be established across the state, and approximately 1,50,000 students are expected to take the test. 

Online applications for AP POLYCET 2026 are being accepted from 03 March 2026. Students who have completed or are studying the 10th Class can apply. This exam consists of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. It has 30 questions on Physics and Chemistry, and 60 on Mathematics. All are Objective-type Questions only. There will be no Negative Marking in the Polycet Exam. We also provide Previous Question Papers in a Separate Article. APPOLYCET 2026: Exam Highlights

1. The examination is conducted offline entirely in an objective format.
2. Candidates will mark their answers on an Optical Mark Reader (OMR) response sheet.
3. The test runs for 2 hours, or 120 minutes.
4. The question paper consists of 120 questions with four multiple-choice responses each.
5. There is strictly no negative marking for incorrect answers.

AP POLYCET: Courses Offered

Candidates are eligible to apply for numerous diploma specialisations.

• 3-Year Engineering Courses: Standard disciplines include Civil Engineering (CIV), Mechanical Engineering (MEC), Electrical & Electronics Engg (EEE), and Computer Engineering (CME). New-age tech courses are also available, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing and Big Data (CCB), and Internet Of Things (IOT).

• 3½-Year Sandwich Courses: These specialised programs include BioMedical Engineering (BME) and several Chemical Engineering branches, such as Petro Chemicals and Sugar Technology.

AP POLYCET Eligibility

Candidates who have passed SSC  or its equivalent  & recognised by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P., Vijayawada are eligible. Candidates who have passed the compartment or are appearing for TSC are also eligible to apply. However, they must have passed all the subjects before seeking admission.

• The candidate must be an Indian National.
• The applicant must belong to the State of Andhra Pradesh.
• Students must have passed the S.S.C. Examination conducted by the State Board of Secondary Education, A.P/Telangana, or any recognized equivalent board like CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, or APOSS.
• Mathematics is a mandatory subject to have studied at the qualifying level.
• Students currently appearing for the SSC or equivalent examination in March 2026 are completely eligible to participate.
• There is no age limit for appearing in the POLYCET 2026 examination.

APPOLYCET Selection Process

• The selection and subsequent admission to diploma courses are based solely on the rank assigned to POLYCET-2026 marks.

• Candidates must secure a minimum of 25% marks in the entrance test to qualify.

• This 25% requirement is equal to scoring 30 marks out of the total 120 marks.

• Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have no minimum qualifying mark requirement.

The Students who wish to apply to the AP Polycet 2026 will be able to fill out the application form online by filling in the necessary details. The students applying for AP Polycet 2026 must fill in all the personal details, Academic details, Communication details, and their recent passport-size photo in the downloaded application form. 

1. All applications must be submitted strictly online via the designated website.
2. Start by filling out your 10th Class Hall ticket Number, the year you passed, and your Date of Birth.
3. Enter your full name and your father’s name exactly as recorded in your school documents.
4. Input your complete residential address details and an active mobile number.
5. Select your preferred examination center from the available list of locations.
6. Clearly indicate your reservation category (such as BC/SC/ST) and any applicable special categories (like CAP/SP/PH/NCC).
7. Complete the application by submitting the required payment fee based on your category.

AP Polycet 2026 Results

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Amravati, will officially declare the AP Polycet 2026 result in the 2nd week of May 2026. Based on the result, a separate merit list will be prepared. The candidates may check their results by entering their Roll Number and Date of Birth (DOB). The AP Polycet 2026 result is also available for all the Principles of the Polytechnic Institutes. The students who will qualify for the exam by obtaining the minimum qualifying marks, i.e, 36 marks out of 120 marks, will appear to allow the AP Polycet 2026 counseling.

AP Polycet 2026 Counselling

The Admission Schedule: The admission schedule |Web  Counseling} will be notified in all leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET results. Candidates are advised to note that admissions into Polytechnics for the academic year 2026-2026 shall be made based on Web Counseling, where in candidates can opt for any course at any Polytechnic in the order of priority. The allotment shall be made for his /her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue.
The higher officials of the Education Board of AP Polycet 2026 give official notifications about the counseling for AP Polycet 2026. The eligible students must report along with the original certificates at the verification venue. After completing the verification process, the students may exercise as many options for seat allotment in the polytechnic colleges. The Preferred choices have been submitted online. The student will be issued the allotment letter based on the rank obtained in the entrance exam and category. Report to the allotted institute along with the required documents and pay the fee to confirm admission.
