VITEEE 2027 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for effective preparation:

  • Correct Answer: Candidates will be awarded Four marks (+4) for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of One mark (-1) for each wrong answer.
  • Unanswered Questions: Zero marks (0) will be given for unanswered or marked for review questions.

Features of the Computer Based Test (CBT):

  • Questions will be presented in English and will appear on the screen one by one randomly.
  • All questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQ).
  • Each question consists of a body and four corresponding response options labeled A, B, C, and D.
  • Only one of the four provided options is the correct answer. Candidates must select only one choice.
  • VIT reserves the right to reschedule a candidate’s examination. If VIT initiates the reschedule, the candidate will not incur any additional entrance exam fees. However, the candidate is responsible for making their own arrangements at their own cost (similar to the original schedule) to take the test on the new date.

Detailed Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT).

  • Duration: 2 hours without any break.

  • Question Type: Objective type – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question has four choices, and candidates must select only one correct option.

  • Medium of Question Paper: English only.

  • Marking Scheme:

    • Correct Answer: Four marks (+4).

    • Wrong Answer: Minus one mark (-1).

    • Unanswered/Marked for Review: Zero marks (0).

Subject-wise Question Distribution

The exam consists of five sections, categorized based on the candidate’s chosen stream:
